I think this is one of the stupidest threads I have ever seen. people should be able to collect who they want to. tons of people collect pujols because his cards are sky-rocketing lately. his are too. leave people alone.

Why cant we talk about this? It's a sports/card related topic. I enjoy reading these "stupid" topics. This is SportsCardForum, right? What are supposed to chat about, the middle-east? Stock-market? How about religion?

I hate it when people just collect the hot player because they're hot. Then once they die down they sell everything they have of that player. I wish people would actually collect players they're a fan of and not because they're the league leaders. It disgusts me when I see a person's want list that consists of Roethlisberger, Vick, LJ, Cadillac, Manning, Polamalu, Alexander, Tatupu. They obviously arn't a true fan of all of them. Just because they're hot...

Amen once again. The Hot Player collectors are typically in it all for the money. Im not saying if someone offered a LJ to me, I wouldnt want it, but Im not gonna go out of my way to get one. It does get annoying seeing the KC fans not even being able to obtain there own player.
You better believe I was pissed when all the Bangwagoners jumped over Rickie Weeks and Prince Fielder of my Brewers!

You can't blame a person for wanting some cards of good players (ie..league leaders, award winners, MVPs). Maybe someone has a goal to collect all MVPs, ROYs, HOfers or whatever. Not all collections focus on a team or player.
Like someone said earlier...Take advantage of it to build up ur own PC.
Now if you're trying to collect one of these HOT players, then I see your frustration cos it's inflating the cost to you, but hey....that's the game.

didnt read all of this but i believe fact's point is that he is sick of bandwagon people. Before LJ ever played did you ever see anyone ask for his cards? Not that i know of. Dealers, not collectors are the people after him. There just in it for the money and they should just go to ebay to get there cards not trade for them. Ive liked and collected Vick since 01-02 and his cards have gone down in value yet i stick with him cause im a collector not a dealer. I see why this makes fact mad
