    Good Summer for Your PC?

As I look out the window, summer is clearly over. There are college kids walking to and fro outside my office. It's raining. It's cold. I'm wearing pants. Yes, farewell to summer.

Let's take a step away from fuming over photoshoot jerseys, rookie autograph exclusives, back-doored products, and other things that are evidently fun to talk about, but really distract us from the core of why we're here.

How was summer for your PC? Did you get some great new cards? Say goodbye to other items? Did you land a white whale?

Don't you dare be sour! Clap your hands and feel the power of positivity!

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I acquired a couple "1st's" for my collections, and just put the cherry on top of summer with my last deal. Will be a nice S&T coming up.

Plus I visited the HHOF this summer, which is never a bad thing

The only PC card I picked up was a Gelinas /22 Rookie auto from 13-14 Cup and I paid less for it than the /249 version so an A+ summer for me

I've been dismantling my PC over the summer, selling off my Toews collection. I just found that it was getting a little old chasing the same player year after year, and I've become disenchanted with event-worn jerseys on my cards. I don't see the selling off as a negative, though, because I've been able to take advantage of the combination of a hot hobby player and a strong US dollar.

As far as additions, I've been chipping away at my new project of trying to put together Ultimate auto rookie sets from every year. I'm barely halfway towards the 400+ cards I need to get there, but I'm finding this one a more fun chase.

It was a great summer for me... I'm not sure if I can keep up this pace, I think as the Sedins career winds down so too will my pile of bubble mailers awaiting me in the mail box, but who knows what exactly lies ahead. I'm working on 3 major collections...

On the Sedin PC, I just picked up my 1,000th mainstream pack inserted memorabilia card (no idea how many more expo stamped cards I have)... the card is still incoming so a show n tell is destined for the near future. Picked up numerous other goodies like a Property Of from last year's cup, and my 100th Sedin printing plate from National Treasures!

On the Lord Stanley's Mug side of things I hit 99 percent of the master set, picked up my 100th 1/1 from the set, and completed the redemption program to exchange a full set of stamped inserts for a replica Cup autographed by Bobby Clarke (show n tell on the cards still to come as a few are incoming).

And, I've been working on the UD Masterpieces 2014-15 master set, picked up just shy of 95% of the set this summer, mostly left with x/15 and x/5 autos to chase plus some x/10 hand painted portraits so it'll be a slow process from here to the end of the journey.

All in all, probably the best cardboard summer I will ever have :)

I like the sound of this thread already.

I had a blast this summer! I had recently come out of a hobby hiatus, so this summer was the perfect opportunity to start getting involved with the hobby once again. Being an active member on these forums really helped, and it was always really fun to check in on everyone's sweet, sweet mail days over the summer.

As for my own personal PC's, I was able to land quite a few cards for my existing PC's, and startup a new one in the process.

Marc-Andre Fleury: Honestly, I don't know why I didn't start collecting Fleury sooner. I've always been a fan of the guy, modelled my own game after him (I'm a goalie myself), and always wanted to hone in on some of his cards. This summer could have been called "The Summer of Fleury" for me, as I now have a total of 68 cards in my Fleury PC. These are some of my best Fleury additions over the summer:

Carey Price: Sometimes 1 card is all it takes. Just 1 main add to the Carey Price PC this summer, but i'm a huge fan!

Martin Brodeur: Again, not much additions to show for the Brodeur PC, but I'm proud of the main cards I was able to acquire.

Ed Belfour PC: I don't usually add much to the Ed Belfour PC as much as I used too. His stuff can get up there in price, and I can't afford to buy everything I see on eBay all the time. Sometimes letting a card go, as tough as it is, will definitely help your wallet in the long run. I'm sure we've all had moments where our eyes were much, much bigger than our wallets could handle. I know I have.

But sometimes PC cards seem to just "show up" so to speak, as they may creep up on you from time to time, and who are we to complain? :)

I've always had a soft spot for Artifacts, and this summer I decided to try my luck on some 14-15 Artifacts... and I'm glad I did... My first 1/1 for the Ed Belfour PC..

Like I said... sometimes PC cards just show up when you'd least expect it... Still in awe at this card!

Jhonas Enroth: I started to hone in on some of Enroth's card near the end of the summer - A few are still incoming, but we'll leave those for a later date. Now for a little more cards to share with you all:

The next two main cards I acquired were cards that I never thought I'd see in my Enroth PC, as one was way back in his 09-10 rookie year, and the other I didn't even know existed! Needless to say, I was one happy collector when these were added to the collection...

Hope you all enjoyed your summer! I can't wait for another great NHL season and another great year in the hobby (especially 2015-16!)

Glad to see everybody's been enjoying themselves with this one.

    Me, I did all right...

20 new Price cards, including 6 gorgeous autos (all-hard signed and a couple featuring friends), 8 memorabilia cards, and even an RC. Oh and that time I met him, got my game puck and my giant head signed.

15 new Subban, including 4 autos, 5 memorabilia, etc.

Beliveau was next on the list with 8 pickups. Two jersey cards and a beauty of an auto out of Prizm.

Good summer for Pacioretty pickups with 7, including a Premier Rinks of Honor booklet.

5 new Gallagher cards including his Crown Royale Silhouette RC.

    Larry Robinson 1/1.

    Two new Patrick Roy autos.

Oh and meeting Guy Lafleur and getting a jersey signed with all of his Cup wins inscribed on it.

Yes, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good.

    Great summer for the PC.

Was able to add 10 or so Motown Patches to the set in progress including a few toughies like Yzerman and Hull.

Pulled a Harry Lumley Motown Papercut 1/1!!! (Never pulled a Papercut before so that was an exciting moment).

Added 4 Hard Signed Yzerman Auto's bringing the total now up to 5 (only had 1 Yzerman auto in the PC prior to this summer).

Added a couple of nice Prime Colors Patches for both the Wings PC and some other Misc non Wings.

And best of all thanks to recent hobby findings I was able to clean up the shoe boxes a little and was able to purge about 250 cards to make room for future purchases.

    Some Highlights of my summer:

    It was a good summer!

Considering that summer is usually slow I am quite pleased with the trades made and the additions I picked up. You even helped me out a couple of times. Thanks
