Good Summer for Your PC?

I wish I could say that I picked up a lot of Derrick Pouliots but since UD didn't include him in Ultimate except debut threads patch and he didn't have a SPA FWAP..... BLAH

Other than that yeah enjoyed what I picked up including a Stammy FWA and Tavares FWA BGS 9.5 and a Kessel FWA :)

Well, I got the full rainbow of Cody McLeod from 15-16 O-Pee-Chee already, so yeah, I think it has been good.

This summer I was lucky to acquire all of these below ...........




The set is out of 30 but 12 of them are short printed to 5 copies or less so I've decided to collect the other 18. Chuck Raynor isn't pictured but I got him recently. Just need 3 more. Doug Harvey, Ted Lindsay and Turk Broda.

the highlight of my summer collecting was finding this after searching for over 2 years for the right one:

also added a card that I had been searching for for 5 years, missed out on it back then and then never saw another single copy again. Other then that just enjoyed the ongoing search for the rare bobby ryan's that I still need

This is my first summer collecting cards and I'm proud to tell the highlights of what I've gotten so far!

First, some of the better Young Guns... Tarasenko (regular and canvas), Forsberg, Galchenyuk x2, Gaudreau, Jamie Benn, Schneider, Patrick Kane, Nichushkin x2, Mackinnon x2, Scheifele, Landeskog, Backstrom, Johansen, Huberdeau (regular and canvas), Doughty

I also got a Hall YG BGS 9.5... and for my PC, 5 Drouin YGs (3 regular, 1 canvas, 1 exclusive), which perfectly leads me onto the Drouin FWA I also have!

And then some patch/autos, including a Duchene Limited Auto Patch 09/25 (Jersey numbered!). These are sort of in my PC but would be the first to go should I find some real eye catchers.

To keep this abbreviated, I'll give one last mention to the biggest pickup of the summer for me. I acquired the 12-13 Datsyuk Ultimate Original Masterpiece. It's my first 1/1 and a picture of it is my avatar for now :)

All in all, not a bad first summer for a college student on somewhat of a budget.

Great idea for a thread!

At the beginning of summer, an out of the blue company-wide mandate made me realize it was time to leave my job. Within days I caught on with a company that pays me more money for fewer (and better!) hours and I have never felt so relaxed in my adult life. My wife and I are well on our way to paying back the money we took from our RRSP's to pay for our house (only 6 months after purchase!) and we are both thriving at home and at work.

I'm not the type to do a Show and Tell thread too often, but my PC has gotten to a point I never could have imagined when I first started. I collect Sens GU and autos, and over the course of the summer hit the 900, 1000, and 1100 milestones. I'm enjoying myself more than ever, and am just as pleased to add an Erik Karlsson to the PC as I am a Lance Pitlick or Brandon Bochenski. If anything, this summer has made me happier as a collector than any other time in recent memory.


Too often the focus has been on the negative lately.... Can't we all just have fun??

Gotta say it was not a bad summer for the Mario PC. I have added in a bunch of Ultimate Vault cards of his (everyone has an opinion there), also some nice pieces. I am quickly approaching the 10,000 total Mario card mark, sitting with about 2,300 unique pieces. Oh and I also nailed down an auto stick of his as well, so yeah pretty good summer I would say.

I had a good summer for my PC. I picked up the number 1 card on my wantlist: Upper Deck Buyback Auto RC of Mike Richter (https://www.sportscardforum.com/threa...er-PC-Addition) and a few other nice cards. I also figured out (I think) how to focus my PC a little more on cards that I actually want to collect not just Rangers cards that are part of a new set that I collect just to have them.
