I`ve mentioned this quite some time ago. It would be the only way to stop people from searching. I like it. I usually buy the variety boxes for $9.99 anyway. Never purchase single packs from anywhere except from my favorite hobby shop. I can`t sit there and search unopened packs anyway. I have no clue how to do it although I`m pretty good at getting the packs with those thick white dummy cards! :) The trick to it, I believe, is NOT grab the thicker packs, but to grab the thinner packs because they don`t have that dummy card in it. I usually wind up with the inserts and some autos from those packs. GU`d isn`t nearly worth what they once were. Why bother with them.

Walmart in our area keeps their cards at the checkout...no way anybody could search them without being seen...though I wonder if the cashiers would care

The Walmart near me keeps them by the counter too, but they have such a pathetic selection, no one would want to pack search. lol

Pack searching is 1 thing , but people buying the retail boxes for $9.99 or $19.99 and taking all the new stuff out and then resealing it with crap=Thats another thing, That is pure stealing!

I've never seen this...do they reseal it with opened junk? OMG :new_shock

Happens all the time now. I was at the Walmart a few towns over 2 weeks ago and they had 2006 Fleer Ultra FB retail boxes for $9.99, you can tell the ones that are re-sealed with their own saran wrap and inside was barely anything, it was so light in weight compared to the others. Unreal!

I have been trying to figure how this is happening since it happened to me with 2 boxes of Bowman Heritage.

Especially since the stores have a No return policy on boxes, or so they said. it's been quite interesting talking with various people.

So what has happened in this case? Did they take yours back? I would have marched in there and demanded that they take it back simply becuse they obviously took it back from the first person...unreal...boy now I'm going to be afraid to buy boxes...:new_shock

I frequently buy most of my packs/boxes from Kmart, the $9.99 variety boxes. I never really see anyone at all near the cards (right in the open in one of the checkout lines). I know it happens, I've heard horror stories about it.

How exactly do you pack search? I've heard about it, but never witnessed anyone do it, and so last time I went to Wal - Mart, I just looked to see if I could notice a difference in pack thickness, which I couldn't at all. Does anyone know the methods that are used? This is completely out of curiosity.

Good to hear that some chains are doing something about this. Seems like card collecters aren't taken seriously buy mangers of these places.
