How you can help SCF and more information about Card Cash Program updates

Everyone -

Hope all is well and you are all staying warm!

I have had a few members PM me over the last 6 weeks asking and offering their assistance with SCF, asking how they can help. Also, I have seen posts about how you can earn card cash. I'll start with the helping of SCF.

First, I want to express how grateful I am that a number of members have expressed a willingness to help. I have a few ways that you can help SCF.

1) Be active!

One of the ways every person reading this message can help is simply to be active! This means being active in discussions, posting your deals that you make on SCF into the Trade Manager, letting your friends know about Site activities, contests, etc. I am working toward increasing our presences on various Social Media platforms, when we do post something, share them.

Something that I am looking at putting into place is a way to better reward every member for being active. The easy way is to make CC more accessible to the users in general (and boosting the rewards for the VIP's). More information is below on some high level Card Cash program update/changes.

Basically, it's simple. the more activity on SCF, the more we can do.


2) Participate!

There are a number of contests, site programs that are currently in progress with more on the way. Some of the items that are upcoming

* BGS submission window opening in February (DETAILS HERE).
* SCF will have a presence at the Expo in Toronto, Canada on April 8-10. I am hoping to have a couple on-site case breaks for members that want to participate. This is in the early planning stages.
* I am planning to attend Nationals in some capacity. I am hopefully to be there for the entire duration of the show and hope to potentially have some SCF activites at Nationals.


3) eBay Searches

There are 2 spots on SCF (one of the header and one on the sidebar) where you have the ability to start an eBay search. SCF does get a small percentage of any purchases made from your search, which helps with the operating costs (see #4 for details). If you are planning to search eBay, I would be grateful if you were to start your search from SCF. I am also looking in the future of adding a eBay link to cards/sets listed in the OPG, but this is an enhancement that is planned for later in 2016.

4) Use the Inventory Manager

I believe that our Inventory Manager is another gem that SCF has to offer. One of the ways you can help is using this tool to keep track of your collection, adding images and using it to link your images directly from SCF as oppose to using Photobucket. This is something that I hope to enhance as time goes on during 2016. Some of the upcoming enhancements are simply to ensure our Team/Sport Database is up to date, adding more emphasis on Soccer cards as its popularity grows and potentially look at adding Non-sports for the first time into the database.


5) VIP Membership

Information about the VIP program can be found (here.

Currently, the main form of payment is via PayPal. However, I will consider Panini Reward Points (600 points), check or money order (none of these are instant and would need to clear prior to the VIP membership to be applied).

Moneys from the VIP membership (and other ad programs) help toward Web-hosting and other SCF related expenses, including visibility at large shows and trade conferences (if did not start a new job, I would have gone to the Hawaii software licenses, modifications and updates needed to SCF (yes, I am thinking about everything, including color schemes).


Realistically, the more you are active, you help SCF. Now on to Card Cash


I have been mentioning for weeks about changes to the Card Cash program. I am still finalizing details, but I want to provide a high level of some of the changes that are going to be coming.

1. Bumping the Card Cash for images uploaded to the SCF Master Image directory. This was done on January 1st and is coinsiding with our Monthly image uploading contest (There will be 12 Monthly contests during 2016). Prior to January, SCF was paying .5cc per image. This is now 2 CC per image.

2. More Contests. I have recently named Andrewhoya SCF Contest Manager and he has been posting contest, after contest for members to earn CC. Also, in a lot of the sport forums, there are a number of sport specific contests that is awarding CC.

3. Posting in certain forums. I am looking at adding a small CC earning for posting in certain forums. More to come on this.

4. Completion of trades on SCF. There is some work that needs to be done with this, but I have had a few people suggest this. I don't have anything formally built out, but SCF does have a great Trade Manager tool and I would love for people to use it on their deals made on SCF. More to come on this.


Those are some of the ways I am looking at you as a member to earn CC. Now, what can you use it on?

C. Pack Sales - VIP Only Perk


I am looking for other ways for you to be able to earn and use CC.

Have you ever thought about a donate to SCF thing? There are a lot of online funding things where people can donate a buck or two that adds up to a lot of money if you get enough people. People donate to a lot of websites now and it would allow people who don't or can't spend the money for the VIP donations.
