Wow, you each got your own opinion but a 3 time MVP a superbowl champ.. He has one bad year and you guys harp on him like crazy. Since the TD-INT ratio is on everybodys mind lets paste some results from 04 and back a few years

    04 - 30 TDs 17 INTs
    03 - 32 TDs 21 INTs
    02 - 27 TDs 17 INTs
    01 - 32 TDs 15 INTs

Outside a marginal year in 02 those are some darn good numbers to me. When you lose your #1 receiver all year, start a total of 8 RB's, still have no consistant o-line((I agree its not the best yet))05 is going to be a horrible year.

Lets not forget this year there are two RC's starting on the line. We have a new coach, new system. You never know what they are going to have Favre do.

    Jay,

I agree. Favre is a legend still playing the game. His 3 MVP awards are statement enough. He always throws a lot of touchdowns. But his team has fallen apart around him.

He does have one thing always though and that is loyalty to his team. Respect for that.

jay, players eventually get past their prime though!! jerry rice is the GREATEST wr ever, and he got cut from a team!! brett cant play at a competitive level forever, and he has proven in the last 12 months the game has passed him by!! sure, he lost his #1 receiver last year, and then they traded him so no help there!! sure, their O line sucked, and as you admit they still do!! they started 8 backs last year, what makes you think this year will be any different? just cause you did something 5 years ago doesn't mean you can STILL do those same things!! no one is taking anything away from favres legacy, he is one of the best ever....but as i said in one of these posts, it is flat out sad....was sad to watch rice still try and play, was sad to watch emmitt still try and play (both every bit as good as favre at their respected positions)....and will be just as sad to watch brett struggle for another season

    John,

I dont have my hope set high, I will admit it.. But the level at which many people are putting him at is kind of a bummer to me. He puts up one bad year and its automatically comming to hes too old and should leave the game. I have absolutly no clue what to expect from him either to be quite honest. New system, new players.... All I will say is that Im still a Packer/Favre fan for life. Things change, people change.. They are trying to make Mike Vick a pocket passer too and even I jumped on that one saying he needs out. Lets just wait a few REGULAR season games to see what happens.

If you notice it was not only Favre who had trouble holding the ball. I watched just a few pathetic minutes of that last preseason game and saw Ahman slip and almost lose the ball as well. Cant tell me to veterns are possesing butterfingers.

sure, you should support your team through thick and thin....im a skins fan since birth....ive seen it all (and i do mean all) and im always the first to b**** when i dont like things being done with my team!! wasn't happy to see gibbs back (still not sure how i feel about it)....i think i might have had something to do with ramsey being benched (i did everything BUT call danny boy snyder and tell him to bench him!!).....but you have to admit that brett is in his FIFTEENTH season (thats alot, more than any other active QB) and the way he went about the offseason "will i play or wont i" wasn't exactly "fair" to the team....wouldn't you like him to be more helpful in grooming rodgers?? he has flat out said hes not there to teach!! thats not what i would expect from brett, and i would be a little, i dont know, disappointed in his actions....id like to hear your opinions on these things since you are a die hard fan

I have been upset by him being a ™™™™™™bag and not teaching rookies. He's known through the league for that... and it isn't cool.

That is the only thing I don't like about him.

Before I say this and bring all the Packer fans down on me, let me state that I think Favre is a hard-nosed QB that deserves much respect and is a definite first-ballot HOFer.
Now, I only watched his SuperBowl win live and haven't thought too much of it since, but to my memory...if Desmond Howard hadn't kicked-™™™ on special-teams in that game...the Pats win it with Bledsoe at the helm.
OK now go ahead and bash my brains in...:)

brett is just like a lot of other athletes like gary payton, alounzo morning, shaquille o neal, etc. who had their best years behind them. He is still good. Lots of guys had bad years like michael vick, donovan mcnabb and stuff.
