2017 In The Game Used Dave Manson

Looks like Leaf got their hands on a Dave Manson Habs jersey! Some nice patches out there! Awesome addition to my Habs collection, right? Wrong. They have a Blackhawks jersey pictured on the card. I like a lot of stuff Leaf puts out, but this is a major issue in their releases. Do the people in charge of this stuff know nothing about hockey, or is it just laziness?

Probably a combination of both. It never really struck me that Leaf really knew or cared about hockey that much (like most Americans) and it was just another market that they could enter in to. I think they are trying their best but it is basically impossible to pass Dr Price on his knowledge of hockey stuff.

You're probably right. But, they don't need to match Dr. Price when it comes to knowledge of the game, they just need to match the jersey in the picture to the jersey on the card. Pretty simple as far as I'm concerned, but I guess not. I see it over and over and over...

They probably hire some minimum wage worker to do it that knows nothing about cards or sports. If they hired somebody who cared about cards they might be tempted to steal some stuff from the company....

Leaf is an absolute joke. For many reasons. Hardly anyone collects their hockey stuff. ITG Used is their best product and its pretty much stolen from ITG. Look at what they do with Eichel Autos. Eichel Towers autos LOL. Most are stickers and look so cheap. They sell for $20 and under. His Future Watch outsells most of Leafs Autos which are very short printed as well. I think they've done a terrible job and the secondary sales show

My assessment wouldn't be as harsh. I will admit to liking a lot of their stuff. Poor results on the secondary market means I'm picking up my singles for less. But my frustration from my original post stands. It's such a simple thing, and they've admitted this boo boo on this forum before, but they refuse to remedy the problem.

Honestly all the companies do that and I don't understand it. Its not just Leaf. I agree its really annoying and shouldn't happen

Leaf acquired all the game used collection from ITG and Dr. Price. Some patches, sticks, autographs on memorabilia are mixed up in cards. I can't remember the players or the card off hand but the Leaf rep here had some goalie card with a game used stick with an autograph of SOME OTHER PLAYER, because someone at Leaf thought it was cool.

What does some hockey fanatic that loves making cards do with a company that just bought out another company? They play around. Like a grown-up acting like a child and getting giddy with their acquisitions. Montreal picture with a black-hawks patch. 'Oh this is cool! Let's do it!'. Yeah.. and when the kid inside the grown-up actually grows up one day they realize it was a dumb move.

Leaf is playing around. They've made some cool stuff and I like a lot of it. They've also made some terrible decisions. Live and learn. Whatever.

Someone else might find that messed up card to be an awesome purchase. Obviously 1 person thought it was cool. Chances ares he isn't the only one.

It's a hobby. Collect what you like. At least there is some money in this hobby. If you ever need to leave you can get some of your money back.

Let's just keep the hobby world go 'round :)
