    Protective Cases

So what are folks using to protect their higher value cards these days?

Want to put several of my sons cards into protective cases, not sure if any are fine or if certain ones are recommended.

Are they the thick patch/window box type of cards or normal size?

Toploaders with penny sleeves and a piece of tape on top are the cheapest way.

Both types of cards. A few have game used materials sort of thing.

I'm switching to appropriate-sized toploaders lately because they support each card without any contact to edges, corners etc. I do not tape the top but keep them covered in a box so that they are not exposed to light....not the most flashy but probably the best way to preserve what I have.

When I receive cards in snap cases corners are always damaged....these things should be thrown away...jewel cases are useful if cards are bookended with decoys and are packed super tight to disallow movement.

Agree with whats been said. My higher ends are always put in a magnetic one touch with no exceptions, they are great looking and keep your card safe. Lower ends a penny sleeve and toploader does the trick. I take it a step further for both and put a team bag on every card as well, keeps dust out of the opening in the top loader and helps prevent scratching on the cases themselves.

100% agreed, this is the best method.
