1. Cut down the collection - I have too many cards just sitting in a box, that I have little interest in. Need to start selling or trading more.
2. Focus more on my PC - I want to add more cards that I know I will hold onto long term, and be happy to have in my collection.
3. Add a McDavid and/or Crosby auto card to the PC - I don't spend much on boxes/singles, so I will need to be patient to put aside funds for this. Does not even need to be a high-end card (even sticker auto is fine for me)
Happy collecting to everyone in the New Year!

Basically this for me. Besides inserts and low-end jerseys I have some giant boxes of base cards that I want to donate eventually.

1) Purge all cards I have no interest in (All Sports).
2) Finish old sets. If not completed by June purge them.
3) Complete Man Cave.

1) Find that damn 2014-15 Upper Deck MVP Colors and Contours Rick Nash #206 I have been looking for for the past three plus years! The last card I need from the 1050 C&C from the last four year.
2) Find a 2016-17 Upper Deck Canvas Matthews without selling my firstborn.
3) Pick up more Blue Jackets autos.Last edited by clonzfan; 12-23-2017 at 11:58 PM.

I'm thinking of goal setting myself. It's coming time to ramp it up a bit.
I had been closing in on some milestone numbers of my player collections.
I am close to 2500 different Jagr crads. Oh so very close to 1000 Palffys, and sitting at the moment with 351 Stumpels. My Boyd collection is stagnant, but I'm going to start hunting his KHL cards a little more intently.
By the end of 2018 I resolve to want to have of my players:
1. Jagr- 2700 cards. Right now I have 2451 stated in the IM, but I also have 43 oddball, and unlisted items. So very close to that 2500 right now.
2. Palffy- 1000 Cards. This should be doable. As of now I have 978. It's been very slowly moving up for about the past three years when I hit 900.
3. Stumpel- 400 Cards. I'm at 351 like I said. He has 622 in total. Quite a few are 1/1, or the show stamp cards I need. This actually is probably the biggest challenge. His cards would be considered commons, and are so far tucked away in many a trader's boxes, that I will find these very hard to come by.
4. Boyd- 75. That is all! I've got 62, and like I say I'll go after his KHL releases. It's really a minor PC, so I'm not setting any big goals here.Searching for: Jagr, Palffy, Stumpel, and Boyd
***Doing some massive updating. Please be patient!***

1. Try and sell some cards even if its at a price I don't like
2. Finish off some base sets
3. Trade more, I need to trade more most people want to trade rather than sell so I need to trade a bit more to move cards

Find the spark. For much of 2017 my collecting interest has been dwindling. I’m reaching a saturation point and even seriously considering a major downsizing of the PC. I’d also like to get a couple major life change events happening and those tend to cost money. So part one kinda helps feed part two.
I still greatly enjoy talking hobby and finding the occasional pickup, but I’m feeling like my mass collecting days are numbered.
Maybe a better Habs team would help. Haha

1. Continue to purge unwanted PC cards from 2005-2010.
2. Focus on 1960s Topps Rangers cards and finish at least the 1962-63 Team Set.
3. Limit spending on "unexciting" cards so that when a nice card I really want comes along, I can buy it within my monthly budget.

In 2017 I started a All-Time Pittsburgh Penguins Roster collection. My goal is to collect a rc of every player who has played even a single game with the penguins, as well as an auto and jersey of each (although many don't have one). So to continue that progress my resolutions are as follows:
1. My rookie collection is currently at 272/699 - goal is to get to 525 (75%)
2. Knock off at least one of the really big rc's - Sidney Crosby, Mario Lemieux, Tim Horton
3. Get rid of my large stack of base cards from 90's - 2000's
Happy collecting in 2018 everyone!
