    Sp authentic question ??

I was just wondering if someone can tell me about the Connor McDavid insert that is going to be in SP authentic. I guess he has his young gun with 97 copy sign. But will it still be considered his rookie? I understand that by backs are not very desirable. Or would it be considered more valuable than his original Young Guns? Feedback would be appreciated

Good question. (I'll move this to the Hockey Card Forum, by the way!)

I think BuyBacks can be desirable depending on the design of card and print run. Any although I only own one, I personally love BuyBack autos, as I think they can take an already awesome card design and make it that much sweeter with a authentic signature on top. The limited hand-numbered print run is also a nice touch, too.

No, it will not be considered a True rookie. Just a "parallel" of a rookie card that is going to be released in a 2017-18 product.

Not sure what to going rate on McDavid's Young Guns are as I write this, but given the scarcity of the card, I could definitely see them surpassing the original, un-signed Young Guns in terms of that sweet, sweet sale value.

Especially the first copy to hit eBay. Watch out for that thing.

Here's a mock-up of the card for those wondering:

No it will not be considered a “true rookie” as that’s the original unsigned version of the card.

But this YG Buyback /97 will possibly be a $2K Card given the print run of SPA and how hard to hit the card will be.
