Jersey cards - is supply/demand ratio changing?

Something I like to do just for fun is when I see people posting jersey cards at ridiculously good prices I'll buy em up. I don't particularly collect them or put them into sets (i'm a set builder) but I just love them and since there's no real demand for them people will often post bunches of them for almost nothing - so it's a fun guilt-free buy.

The thing is...I've barely seen any such listings for the past few months - there used to be so many what would limit me buying them was not wanting to blow too much money, whereas lately I've barely seen anyone list them.

Is there an uptick in demand for jersey cards and/or a reduction in supply of them? it's just odd how scarce they seem to be on SCF

Bulk jersey card lots are less common since the "mid tier" UD change - SPGU / Black Diamond / SPx / UD1 & 2 all putting out a lot less jerseys than they used to.

This is also the reason you dont see as many quality $1 - $2 boxes at smaller shows.

Less jerseys in products ..... more expensive garbage jerseys. Does someone really want to sell their $1 jersey from the $25+ pack of SPx they got it in .... at least they didnt hit the base card =S

Also, people are using COMC to move that weak $1 - $5 stuff.

Lately, I noticed more action on the more common licenced ITG memorabilia. Harder to find crazy deals on the lower-end of them. Maybe it has to do with the low print runs. But, decent Panini memorabilia is cheaper than you could expect, considering the quality of the names on the cards and the print runs.

Yes, there is less lower-end jerseys inserted in products like regular UD1-2. There was so much stuff produced in the past, maybe it's a good idea to make less of them now.

I'm surprised you can find patches of stars for under 10 or sometimes 5 dollars. I would have thought these would be go too cards for collectors

Saturated market means no middle ground. Super-star RC graded Ultra Mint Pristine Gem or toss it in the dumpster.

I schlub like me dosent mind. I'm not a hardcore collector like many here so I can get name stars with cool cards.

I don't think they're making that much less.... it's just that you'd have to take such a bath on the stuff for anyone to buy it, that you don't see those kinds of posts much.

As canucksfan007 pointed out, a lot of the mid-end sets that used to be filled with $1 bin jersey cards... they've turning into "one-pak-per-box" products, so that has drained the supply for dollar bins. Even UD Series 1/2: You used to get two jersey cards per box, now I think it's just one. They're not any more valuable than they were 5 years ago, but now case breaks only have a dozen to dump for nothing, instead of two dozen.

I have a 2017-18 Leaf - In The Game Used "Reflections" Duel GU Wayne Gretzky & Conner McDavid 3-color patch (Orange, White & Blue) which clearly came from the Oilers main/crest logo SN #'ed 2/2

I've had it for a year+ now, I've had some low-ball offers and tire kickers that have shown interest of have offered me nothing close to what I want for it...

The McDavid Patch is sweet too..

When I bought it I figured I would flip it or trade it within a month, here it is a year later and I still have it.

I mean c'mon - a 3-color Game Used McDavid patch from the logo/crest of the jersey? not to mention Game Used Wayne Gretzky swatch, #'ed 2/2...... I don't get it....

I mean this one sold for $52.00 and it's #ed 6/20 and mine as you can see below is 2/2 - and my McDavid patch is 10x more appealing than this dudes.
