The series is far from over, but that was certainly an unexpected shellacking. I still expect the Leafs to take the series, but Tampa will pull it together and make things interesting.

Vasilevskiy stats following a play-off loss last 2 years.
    Record: 14-0 SV .966 with 5 shutouts.
Probably 7 game series. Game 2 is huge for the Leafs, obviously.

Tampa played a very sloppy game and Toronto capitalized on every mistake. I predict a much closer game 2 and I still think this will be one of the best of the opening series.

Simmonds cost us the game. I love the guy and everything, but those two penalties he took were absolutely brutal! No way he should see the ice the rest of the playoffs and Spezza should get the call the rest of the way. I thought Simmonds would be ok after shunning away from perry and maroon in game 1, but the two gaffs he took are something even a rookie knows better not do. I have not been frustrated with his play at all and was all for him playing when the rest of the media and city was against it, but he has to go!

Other than that I liked how the Leafs made it a game in the third, but the lightning showed how good they are and vass's save on lilijgren was a game changer. that goes in and it's a brand new game and who knows what happens.

Last night was the Leaf's chance to go 2-0 and probably win the series.
Oh well better luck next year! lol
The HNIC crew jinxed them in pre-game by going on about how Toronto was bigger and faster.

I heard Sean Avery on the FAN 590 earlier this morning and he has to be the worst hockey analyst I have ever experienced. His take was that the Lightning were moons better than the leafs but during the interview he went back and forth from what the leafs were lacking to how it would be a 7 games series. He also has a love in for Kucherov which is just weird. Granted great player, but no longer in the elite status in the NHL. He just seemed to be a leafs hater b/c that is what will get him views and likes on social media. Shameful really.

Maybe you should follow more then just the leafs.............69 points in 47 games this year......120 over the course of a full season think I would call that elite status......he is one of the top 5 players in the league.

my other posts in this thread clearly indicate that i am a fan of the nhl first and foremost over being a leafs fan, but i guess u missed that. plus my post was about the ignorance of sean avery and not kucherov. i guess u missed that too. oh well.
