Hi there @ODM and welcome to the wonderful world of TTM autograph requests! Definitely check out this sticky thread that Stl_Cardinals_Fan posted back in 2007 with what to watch for, common terms, and methods people typically use with success - https://www.sportscardforum.com/thre...d-info-threads!
Here's the subforum for all things autograms and TTM (the above thread is stickied here) - https://www.sportscardforum.com/foru...ograph-Central

Best of luck on your journey and definitely cultivate patience and set expectations. It's a lot harder to get current players than retired players. Often times now guys have exclusive contracts setup with companies like Panini, Fanatics, Leaf, etc which prevents them from signing outside of their contract. Some guys have a signing fee, some do it for free. If you send multiple cards, sometimes guys will keep a couple and send a couple back. Some guys will only sign one card. YMMV. If you want to get your feet wet, take a look at a list of reliable signers to get a feel for the process - https://www.sportscardforum.com/scfttmm/ttmm/stats/4/
If you're looking for current players, you can always try to send to the team's home office (usually the stadium address) and note it's fan mail attention to a specific player. I used to send to all the Bears draft picks in the past and I'd usually get one return and usually a lower round pick and usually not a "premium" position. Keep in mind a lot of guys get a lot of fan mail and may not have the time or energy to deal with it.
Hope this helps and have fun!
