Yeah saw that and was coming here to post it. There has been a ton of torn ACLs in all sports the past season and a half. Way more than normal and I don't really have a reason to explain it.Selling all my cards here updated as of June------------> Hidden Content

Marginal basketball fan here. Is Bronny James a credible NBA prospect ?

No he never was. He just has a job in the NBA because his dad is Lebron James. If he was anybody else he would be out of the league.

I think Bronny could potentially be a rotational player, but he will never be a star or starter in the league, IMO.

Wembanyama grew again and is now 7-5. This makes him tied for sixth tallest player in league history:

If he can have longevity with his kind of skill level, he will be unprecedented at his height in the NBA. (7-6 Shawn Bradley actually stayed healthier than I thought when I checked his career stat totals, including games played. However he never had the skill level of Wembanyama despite decent coordination.)

I actually see that as a negative for him. He is already freakishly tall so adding any height is just going to cause more health issues or increase the chance of injury.
As for Bradley I don't think he was ever going to be a superstar but the guy had the unfortunate luck of coming into the league when it was stacked with talented HOF centers that actually played inside and weren't taking 3 point shots. You had Shaq, Hakeem, David Robinson, Ewing, Mutumbo, Zo, and Sabonis to deal with. Just a stacked era.

NBA season is here!
Loved seeing the banner ceremony for the Thunder. Chet has looked great tonight; SGA, not so much. Houston's enormous size and length are giving most of the other Thunder players sans Chet and Ajay Mitchell problems. And they're obviously missing JDub. Houston is of course going to be without Van Vleet for a long time, but their offense is looking surprisingly smooth without him.
One thing I must add - OKC really should stop booing Durant. I know him leaving was devastating. He's probably top 15 all-time in talent, and many rank him that high, but I dock him down to top 30 because of his mental fragility and inability to lead. All that said, if I were in the crowd tonight, I couldn't bring myself to boo him anymore. It was almost a decade ago. Let it go.Last edited by WilyWestbrook0; 10-21-2025 at 09:11 PM.

Oh my goodness that was a great game. Double overtime! And a poetic ending with Durant fouling out on SGA with the game on the line. Especially after the refs missed KD's timeout call when there were none left.
OKC proving why they are the champs. Such grit coming back after being down for awhile in that one, and fighting through multiple OTs.
I love this team!

Chauncey Billups, Terry Rozier arrested by FBI relating to gambling and Mafia connections:

Yikes. We've seen similar stuff from Rozier before, but Billups obviously loses his coaching job here. I wonder if his HOF selection will be revoked, too. This is some really serious stuff.
As for the rest of the NBA, lots of debuts last night. Flagg wasn't very impressive in his, overshadowed by Wembanyama's monster 40 point game. VJ Edgecombe for Philly scored the most points in a rookie debut since Wilt.
Meanwhile, Cavaliers looked as soft as ever in the loss to the Knicks; I'm starting to get frustrated with Jarrett Allen, and I used to be a big defender of his. Sure, they were without Darius Garland, but OKC was without JDub in their debut too and they didn't use that as an excuse. I want Cleveland to take that next step but I'm increasingly skeptical their team has the mental fortitude to do it. Mobley is phenomenal, Don can still put up points, but I just am not convinced the team has the grit.

I agree that I think he is around 25-30th all time. Which isn't a bad thing but unless he does something big over the next couple of seasons he isn't going to move up all that much in my opinion. I was talking with somebody the other day about the NBA top lists and tried to explain to him that when you list off the 10 best players there isn't much room for any new guys in the top 10. He had to remove Wilt and Bill just to make his guy in the top 15 when I told him to list off the top 15. People easily forget older retired players when thinking of these lists and they focus too much on modern guys who are still playing. Unless the guy is baked in like Lebron you can't really project guys on a pace because most never live up to that pace so they finish lower than where people project them early on.
