I'd like to add one more: Dutch auctions on ebay. You don't know exactly what you're going to get so it's similar to the excitement of busting a box. Also, in many cases you're guaranteed to get some good stuff. It might not get me the specific cards I need but it gets me the necessary trade bait to acquire the cards I want. Or occasionally I will resell them individually on ebay. I received one dutch auction in the mail yesterday that included a minimum of $15 worth of cards for each dollar I spent with the Becketts to support it. I can live with that. :-) Gives me a nice variety too.

Well I like busting wax so my answers are going to be skewed.

    1) Hobby Packs (I love hobby boxes too, but the thrill of pulling an auto/gu out of a random pack is better to me. You know you're going to get something when you buy a box.)
    2) Hobby Boxes
    3) Retail Boxes
    4) Singles (E-bay)
    5) Retail packs (if its a fresh box)
