    It's because Hill is a Duke guy, and all the other Duke guys want him. And as we know, only rich, stuck-up autocrats go to Duke. So their spending all this money on Hill is their way of telling the rest of us, "He belongs to us, not you." This is also what is behind the value of Jar Jar Redick's cards, even though he's played like three minutes the entire season.

    Well I never went to Duke, in fact I was a fan (and started collecting) when I didn't even live in the U.S.

    The biggest Hill collectors I know of live in Australia (a few there actually), Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.. and a couple in the U.S. :P

    I think it has much more to do with people collecting him when he was the next MJ and not wanting to let go

    He is very popular on the australian board, and seems to be very popular around the world like you said probably a throwback from when he was awesome before his injuries, but also because he generally is a very likable player
