Hey clint so sorry to hear bout the loss i've only had 1 card stolen from me,a Bobby Orr rookie ,I bought it for my new born son right after he was born.I was so pissed that i've been very carefull from that day forward ,the cards i collect now are for him when he gets older .Man the gall of some people they are the ones who depriciate the meaning of trading and collecting....Sorry again check the ones who know you and what your all about you will probly find out who did it....Good luck Misty

First thing you should do is come up with suspects.

Eliminate a group (were there girls around the time you were there, if not, they could be eliminated).

Were football players around there when you had your gym bag.

Did anyone place their bags near yours?

who close to you knows you love cards, and have valuable cards?

Just whittle the list down and go from there.

Don't start buying cards just yet; you can always do that later.

You know what the card shop I go in Indiana had a break in about 6 months ago and he got most all back he filed a police report and what ended up happening was some kid was selling his graded cards for like $5 to neighborhood kids and one went in this other card shop in the area and tried to either trade it or sell and the owner knew that the shop had been broken into and called the my guy to come over to look at the cards and they were his, now the police on the other hand tried to keep the cards claiming he couldn't prove they were his, but he told them of some of the serial #'s and they still didn't want to give them back but the owner knew the local prosecuter and told him and the cops released the cards to them.

I am sorry what happened, if you build find your cards or build up your collection again, I would get a scan of the valuable one's and place insurance on them or have your mom add them to the homeowners insurance which she still may be able to file a claim against it, they may only pay 50% of the total but who knows. I know you can do it with jewerly and things, but since they were with you at school, it might not work, but them again you can claim on your homeowners policy when somethings are stolen from you car, and I say sometimes, I remember my folks doing something like that years and years ago.

again I would alert the cops and all the card shops in the area, while most are too young to sell on ebay, but them again, it doesn't stop people from joining forums. I would look into anyone that collects cards that you know of and put a word in to them that your; (example: jagr #'d 1/250 was stolen, because they try to off that one because of the higher value. You might want to tell your principle, just in case someboby tries to say you sold their cards. you know how people do, they claim foul and they are the one that committed it

That sucks big :(. I'm ver sorry to hear that man.

I learned that same lesson as well back in school. Except in my case it was a wallet that just happened to have more cash than I would normally ever carry.

Getting cards stolen just makes you sick at your stomach.

thanks for the advice everyone,

ive taken most of the steps everyone has said. ive filed a police report, sent lists of my rookies with their serial numbers to various card stores, and the dean of students and the athletic director at my school knows about the theft. there are about 400 males in my school and everyone knows what was stolen from me. today in school, we had an assembly for every male student about the theft problem in our school. the past few months in my school vcr's, digital cameras, a nintendo gamecube, a game boy advance, and my cards have all been some of the items reported stolen. before i try to rebuild my collection, which i will do, im am going to wait and see how this situation unfolds. hopefully my cards will be found.

there was nothing in the stolen case that had any mention of this or any website. i wish there was and maybe the kid would be stupid enough to list them on here.

The reason I asked was that he doesn't know you're on this site. He may possibly be told about the site and try to sell those here. What if all the sudden there was a flyer posted in your school about SCF? Hmmmmmmm.....maybe we could flush him out and burn his ™™™™™!!! Just a thought.
