you should check with Upper Deck on it cause around the time that card was made they started keeping pics of all patches due to people making fakes (atleast thats what i was told by UD rep back in 2002) like that ive seen alot of them over the years and i have to say thats the worse job of a fake ive ever seen not only is the cut out badly cut but that whole light color ring around the patch just screams fake

I've had several cards out of that set, and have never seen a patch that elaborate. If I were you, I'd PM germanspike, as he collects the multi-colored patches from that set. He'd probably be able to tell you if it's a legit card.

craig-thats true. I've talked to him in the past. I know he looks for multi-colored from that set.

like i said your best bet may be to contact upper deck
a similar thing happened with 2001 spx ichiro rookie jersey autos where people were placing fake patches in the cards. when upper deck was contacted, they said that there was no patch version.

If this was legit, I would think the multi-layer (un-even) patch would damage the face of the card during the pressing procedure.
