2004 Topps - the good and bad pricing

Well, I've already heard of the prices of the 2004 Topps skyrocketing. My local shop wants $75 for a Jumbo box and I've heard more!
If you didn't get it pre-sell (I forgot), then I noticed (and bought a box) that DACardworld has them for $52 for the Jumbo. They just added the price about 40 minutes ago.

I've never bought from them not do I have any connection whatsoever. I just thought I'd let those of you who want it know of a decent price.

Yeah Patrick, I was gonna buy a box presell of the Topps for like $45 but I totally forgot about it. So I talked to my card shop guy and asked how much a box would cost within the next week or two, and he said he expects it to be $60-100...just for the normal box...that's too much for me...
BTW, what is the difference between the regular and jumbo? The regular is 36 packs of 10 cards, right? How many in the jumbo?

meu, baseball. They have cut signatures of all the presidents in them. Each is a 1/1.

meuandthelot - sorry, Baseball. The hype is that this is the set with the Presidential autographs from every Pres. (1/1) Even though the chance is like 1:1,000,000, people are excited at the opportunity. I usually collect Topps products anyway so it was a good excuse. ;)

Cubsfan22- The Jumbo has 10 packs of 35 cards. The thing is that the ratio for autos and g/u are 1:19, as opposed to 1:90 for the regular hobby packs. So you get fewer packs but much better odds.

Thanks for the info! That's interesting...I'm thinking about putting this set together. Do you think I should just buy the Jumbo or get one of the regular ones?

I'd check out dacardworld's site and they have odds etc. listed.

You get 360 cards/box with the regular hobby box and 420 with the Jumbo. The $4 price difference is enough to get me to the Jumbo with the greater odds and more cards.

I was wrong on the Jumbo. There are 12 packs, not 10.
I think the basic hobby has 36 packs of 10 (might be 12 though)

I got 2 hobby boxes for $90 in a presell group buy.

I got 1 Hobby Box for $46 + shipping in a case bust over at The Bench. It was at pre-sell prices, so we were able to get it quite cheap.

Just waiting for my box to arrive any day now.
