What is BECKETT ???
Ok , i know what it is, ive had one since the beginning ... but its AMAZING to me, how so many Collectors have NO idea how to use it or what it is.
I hate comments like " i have to check the BV " , " BV is $*** on that Card." etc etc.
it is a Guide ... NOTHING MORE OR LESS ... how much is your 1/1 card? no BV? ... Its worth whatever someone will pay! ...
" Ohhh i cant sell this card because the New Beckett isnt out ,i dont know the BV on it ... "
Hey lets use our brains a bit eh .... if you cant come up with you own price range for a card based on the PLayer , Odds of pulling , How many exist , look of the card etc. then you should NOT be in the Hobby/Business.

eh some people havent been in the hobby long enough to tell the value of a card right away, and the beckett helps (guides) them to do so. Enough time spent evaluating the BV of cards, and theyll start to catch on..

I agree that you can set your own BV pretty accurately. However, I still keep an active beckett to validate pricing if anyone questions.

the only beckett i get is the BIG fat one with the listing of all Cards with prices ... although i dont care about the prices ... i use it just to see what players are in what sets etc. as the reg. beckett is preety much useless right now as it lists the few top players and nothing else.

The online Beckett is much better - even better than the big book - since it gets updated as sets come out

The Beckett is the number 1 guide for pricing and people are using it a lot.
Just check on this board and you'll see everyone refering to it when they trade or sell cards.
I'm a seller at local shows in my area and I need to use the beckett prices because buyers won't use other guides than Beckett

Beckett is so far from the truth it's funny. Ebay is the #1 value guide because it's real world hard numbers.

99% of the people using beckett dont actually know how to use it ...
PLus Most people who have cards always say the Value is the HIGH ... when really its probably 50% Less then the LOW ...

It's not like they pull the numbers out of the air. They do extensive research to come up with the BV's that they publish. Some cards do go for the HIGH value they list; others dont. It's still a good guide.
