Taking a Poll!!
How Do You Think The Crime Rate Would Be, If The United States Had A Criminal Justice System Like They Used To Have In The Middle East Years Ago, Where If You Killed Someone You Had A Trial, And 3 Days Later Your Head Came Off With A Sword, Or If You Stole Something, You Had A Trial, And 3 Days Later Your Hand Came Off.
In My Personal Oppinion, I Think There Would Be A Lot Less Crimes, Less Need For Jail's, And It Would Save The Country A Ton Of Money.
Look At The Jails We Have Now, They Have Free Cable Tv, Get Free 3 Square Meals A Day, Free Housing, Etc, All At The Tax Payers Exspense, No Wonder The Crime Rate Is So High.
What Are Your Oppinions?

Well on the other side of the coin and because of the bleeding hearts in this country. What does a thief do that has no hands?? A sex offender with no ...well you get the picture. Who pays for their doctor bills and their upkeep when they can't find jobs to support them?? What happens when people find out an innocent person was wrongfully accused (a'la duke lacrosse players) what then??? I believe in the death penalty. I also believe if you sexually abuse a child thats a special circumstance and the death penalty applies as well. If you can't cure it like all diseases you remove it.
What we need is the old time prisons! You step out of line you get the crap beaten out of you. Plus hard labor should be brought back. See who wants to go to prison when all you do is break your back 8-12 hours a day!

Thing that gets me is the lawsuits going on now that says lethal injection is cruel and unusual punishment. What about their victims that they murdered and raped and whatever they did to them, wasn`t THAT cruel and unusual???
I`d be all for if you kill someone you get the same treatment you gave your victim. Short and sweet. You beat someones brains out with a hammer or something like that and a lethal injection is cruel. Give me a break!! An eye for an eye!

ripkenFan, you got it right, it should be an eye for an eye, these people thing that they deserve humane treatment, the only treatment the deserve is the same suffering the put thier victims, and thier victims family through, and none of this appeal stuff, you get the death penalty, it should be acted on within a month

Considering how F***ED up the legal system is, be glad that some people just go to jail and not worse. How many dozens have been let of death row in the past decade? The system is flawed, not the punishment.

Having some distant relatives that have been on the wrong side of the cellblock, I have a different view of prisons. Locking someone down and not giving them the chance to rehabilitate or get a decent education does not improve the situation. Most inmates have little or no education, can't get or hold a decent job, so they turn to the easiest method to get what they want. Now, I'm not sayin we need to coddle guys in for life or death...hell no, lock em up and let em rot. What i'm sayin is, what good does it do to have someone doin 5-10 on car theft or assault to be locked down 23 hrs a day. All that's gonna do is cause them to hate absolutely everyone. That's where you get repeat offenders. Chopping body parts off of people ain't gonna solve anything cause then we the taxpayers are gonna be footin the bill for them to live....how ya gonna work with one hand?

Thankfully this isn't happening. Let's take a look at the reverse. We all know the justice system can use work, as evidenced by biased sentencing, mishandled cases, poor judgment, and false convictions. People are suggesting an eye for an eye, really? With the system and its flaws? What happens when the government cuts the arm off an innocent man? It is bad enough we still have the death penalty, now people feel the need to hack off limbs. A sad state of affairs.
