    Darrell,
I would like to ask you this. You mention to help them get a education what type of education you talking college, ph.d. etc?? As I know prisoners that have been given that opportunity and that is great. But again on the reverse side wouldn't it be nice to give that same opportunity to the man or women that works 2 or 3 jobs to support their family so they can try to get ahead.

    Joe,
Problem is on your statement on what happens when a man gets his arm cut off by the government it would be just like state hospitals. They can screw up big time and since they are not for profit it a free pass. As they can do all kind of horrible things (SCREW UPS) unlike a for profit hospital which is the one that gets hit by the big lawsuits.

To me it a lot more complex then this or that but opinions vary for individuals. No matter what anyone comes up with there will always be dissension but there are things that are more fair or ethical for the betterment of the majority. With special interest groups and some groups having more power even though a minority it amazing what can be put into place. Oh well this debate will go on and on.

I don't believe they receive a "free pass". They can be sued just like any other hospital. I think the difference is that they have tax exempt status and must perform certain duties in order to maintain that status.

    Joe,
You can check it up but the HOSPITAL gets a free pass (I am almost 100 percent certain).

Example if you go against the University of Kentucky since it is a learning hospital it given a FREE PASS. Now you can go after the doctor or others on the staff but not the HOSPTIAL.

Example if you go against say CENTRAL BAPTIST (A FOR PROFIT HOSPITAL) you can go after all: HOSPITAL, DOCTOR, Staff, etc.

We all know the Hospitals are the one that are truly worth the big dollars and have the big dough as the doctors and staff only insured with so much. So when they are given a FREE PASS it not always a good thing.

p.s. Glad to see ya around.

I think it varies state by state according to the law on whether or not you can sue the hospital itself.
