Enough Already
I think it is time to do away with the political threads. They are rarely productive, informative, or debate worthy. It is usually two ideologues squabbling back and forth with no end in sight. Instead of a well versed, educated response, there is typically a sarcastic retort with a childish smiley. The quips that are posted are far from witty and the "No Thanks" and "Thank You"s serve very little purpose when the person does not give reason for them. I don't mind general discussion, but when there are people that think they know everything it gets old trying to have an actual debate. I've participated in the past, but will no longer unless there is actual sense being made within the thread. Enjoy your day.

If you don't like the threads you do not have to view or participate in them. Some people enjoy them. I agree that a lot of the posts do not contain substance but let’s leave it up to the other members to decide if they want to participate.
Thanks,
Charlie

I don't mind debates, but when it is nonsensical, it is pointless. And a lot of the times the politically driven threads are just that. If people were able to separate their bias from their arguments it would be different, but many times people are unable to do so.

I do not think that, however, you can tell when someone makes zero sense as opposed to someone that does.

Without sounding like I'm trying to start an argument. Look at it this way.
Does this thread make sense to you? If you don't like a thread or what is said don't view them or simply leave it alone. If you think your thinking is superior to others in the thread, fine thats your opinion. You don't like certain threads really don't even view them. Again this is my opinion.
Now everyone knows you don't like the policitical forums. So with that said do what makes you happy here trading talking cards etc. Personally I see no reason for those forums as it doesn't pertain to sports or card collecting. But again my opinion.

I agree if you don`t like them don`t reply to them. Ain`t nobody forcing you to read them or reply to them.

I think the forum would be better served without clutter such as frivolous political threads which lead absolutely nowhere. I never stated my thinking was superior to others. If my statements are not clear enough for people, then that is another issue. We all know that each individual has their own opinion when it comes to issues. We also know that the most contested and heated are that of religion and politics. That said, my suggestion is simply do away with political threads because of said reasons. I would say toss in religious ones as well.
The response of "Don't click if you don't like it" is simply stated: bogus. The thread title does not display thread content. The thread could quite possibly contain and knowledgable and worthy debate. However, it seems to me that people are unable to separate their emotions from their arguments and the debate quickly dies.

Thats true (about emotions) But doesn't that make for a better debate? I mean I'd rather debate the pro's and cons of capital punishment because I truely believe in it! But why would I want to debate something that is out of my hands like changing laws? Thats what politicians do, not us. Yea we vote for them but we don't control them.
granted I don't want to see name calling or worse trying to make a point. But even if you get into a debate and it looks like your wondering where the other person is coming from. Simple quit the thread and remove your subscription to it. Not all of us are debaters, but we all have opinions and ideas. You can't change that. Basically a debate is a war of words. So do what you do if you don't like it change the channel. I try to steer clear of such threads myself.
And thats my final word! AMEN

who cares...again as people said if you dont like something or it doesnt interest you or you dont wanna reply dont reply...if your curious about a title click it, if your not dont, if you click it and you start reading and you then realize you dont like it, click back, its not that hard to get...the same can be said if you dont like a certain member for some reason, you dont have to read their posts, or reply to their posts, just let it be...the posts are not cluttering or doing anything else to the site, so dont claim that they are, one post can be seen pointless to you could be seen as a great story to me...i know this is your big thing and you've argued this in a lot of posts, but they arent going away, i only know of a few who have even mentioned they go away, the majority is all on the same page, and thats how it will stand.
