I say good deal on both ends. Miami gets a third scoring option with the ability to put up 15 a night; Minnesota gets the veteran presence it needs, with the first pick being handy next year (if they get it).

In light of the recent Antoine Walker/Ricky Davis trade, here are some questions for the Timberwolves:

#1 - Does Kevin McHale have a brain?

#2 - Will Kevin McHale ever get a brain?

Ok....now to the questions about the trade:

#1 - Why trade 2 players for 3 when the roster is already at 17 (now 18)?? We need to shave the roster down to 15 before the season starts...I keep hearing that deals will be done to help REDUCE the roster, not increase it.

#2 - I thought the Wolves were trying to "rebuild" and "go young"....isn't that why KG was traded for 4 guys under 25 yrs old? So, why did we trade for Antoine Walker???

#3 - They traded Blount, our starting center....so, who'll be the starting center now? The rookie, Chris Richard? The non-scoring, injury-prone Mark Madsen? Theo Ratliff? Michael Doleac (who we got in the trade)? If it's not Theo, wouldn't Mark Blount have been a better option? Isn't he better than the other three?

#4 - This isn't a question...more of a statement. The only players left on the Wolves roster from last season are:
Mark Madsen
Craig Smith
Marko Jaric
Rashad McCants
Randy Foye

The new guys:
John Edwards (FA)
Al Jefferson (KG trade)
Chris Richard (draft)
Theo Ratliff (KG trade)

well, i think miami def got the better deal here...
they traded doleac and walker for blount and davis...they were about to cut simien anyway....
but for the wolves side, they need few inside players, as a lot of them are injury prone...i dont know if walker can help the depth with him being so fat...
pat riley hated walker bc he became so fat over the summer...i think he gained like 25 pounds or something lol

I understand about not having a bunch of young guys, but didn't we have a veteran presence with Ricky Davis and Mark Blount? So why trade for a guy that is on his last leg? I think RD and Blount each have several years left in them, where as Antoine probably only has 2-3 years total.

Also, Juwan Howard....isn't he older? And Theo Ratliff, Mark Madsen, Greg Buckner and Marko Jaric? Not that I would want my 'veteran presence' to be Madsen, Buckner or Jaric, but all those guys are on the roster as well.

One more thing....here is my prediction for starting 5 for the Wolves:

C Theo Ratliff (until he's hurt, then it'll be Doleac)
PF Al Jefferson
SF Antoine Walker (until he's hurt too, then it'll be Corey Brewer, if he becomes good, or Craig Smith)
SG Randy Foye
PG Sebastian Telfair

to answer all of your question tradin ricky davis was the right move. Walker can be a soild (once was a star) player and is a vet somethin this team needs. Y would u keep ricky davis when davis anit that good and you have two players who offer exactly what davis does in green and brewer. Walker on the other hand gives u a nice combo player he can shoot and rebound.

No way Jaric starts....I can see Green staring, but no way that Jaric ever starts a game.....what is his average since coming to MN?? 5/game at best? Actually, I can't see Foye starting at PG either....he doesn't have/hasn't shown that he has what it take to be a true PG. The PG is a HUGE weak point for the Wolves. So is coaching and managing, but lets not go into that now :winking0071:

RD puts up 15/night....Green hasn't done that, and Brewer is unproven as a pro....he has the potential to become good, if not great, but as of now, he is unproven.

Great deal for the Heat. Bad deal for the Wolves. Poor Walker. I guess Riley was really serious when he wanted hiim to get into shape!
