Profitting off Sean Taylors death

I absolutely hate that people are trying to profit off his death. I mainly disapprove of the buying and reselling at a higher cost. But, I also do not believe that we all should be jumping to conclusions when a member is looking for Sean Taylor cards for the first time on this forum.

It happens mate although I think its in bad taste, theres nothing a lot people can do about it.

Although I do beleive it was a tragic death for a person that had great potential, the reality is that we operate in a open economic society based on economic principles. One of thos principles is to by low and sell when demand is high. In which case, selling at a higher price than value is ok as long as there is a willing buyer to pay the sellers price. Personaly, I saw that his stuff got hot on ebay and I took what I had and put them up. Now, everything has gone from hot to ice cold in a 24 hour period but I like everyone else was looking to make a quick buck on something that was going anywhere trade wise. People that choose to buy/trade low and sell high, that's ok with me because it is society. THEY are the sole owners and THEY have that choice to make regardless of the situation.

The same can be said for "fair weather fans" when a player is hot performance wise. It was hard for me personaly when LT was playing well last year to even land low end stuff because the trade and sale value was so high. Likewise, there was an increased demand for his stuff by people who hadn't previousely sought out his cards before the season begain. Luckily for true fans of these players, we have or may have already built and impressive collection of them already and can only be all smiles when the value rises to obscene prices. During the run last year with LT and each Beckett that came out, I would always say to myself, "I love being me" because I already had many of his items that were hot which was everything.

The bottom line is this, people operate for themselves based on economic principles. They could less who makes mad or offends because they are looking out for themselves. We only have self control and not total control. It is the choice of the individual to buy low and sell high and IMO is completely ok because of our economic society and it's economic principles. Be angry if you choose but you won't change anyone elses mind and they will only be looking after themselves which is completely justifiable. I've been in the same boat as yourself but in a different circumstance but the frustration is equal. I just look at it like everyone should, they are human nakeing their choices and no one is going to be able to sway them from it.

Love my opinion, hate my opinion, but at the end of the day it will do no good complaining about the choices others make because they are looking out for themselves.
