Today I got one of my all-time favorite athletes, former Oakland Raiders running back and member of the Kansas City Royals and Chicago White Sox, Bo Jackson, 5 cards signed, 1 8x10 signed, and 1 OMLB signed, for free, at an appearance in Arlington Heights, IL. He was very particular about only 1 per person, and wouldn't let people who had gone through the line once go back in line, but the wife and kids were incredibly helpful!

Today at the Andre Dawson and Friends Celebrity Softball Event, the players would only sign the program that could be purchased for $5, and would not sign any bats, balls, cards, jerseys, etc. There were expected to be 25 players and celebrities at the event, but they came in various waves. The 1st wave was Andre Dawson, Warren Cromartie, Dale Murphy, Dave Parker, Leon Durham, Bill Buckner, Bruce Sutter, and George Foster. All of them signed my program, which is attached. I also got Cromartie, Durham, and Dale Murphy to sign 1 card each, although their handlers were none-too-pleased about this. I did not get back in line to wait for the next wave, which supposedly included Don Zimmer, Dwight Gooden, Gary Sheffield, Mitch Williams, Otis Wilson, Steve McMichael, George Wendt, Steve Garvey, and others, but there were a couple hundred people in line.
All in all, a disappointment, but about what I expected. These events with lots of players are always too good to be true.

Today I got former Chicago Bear, and member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, D*ck Butkus, 3 8x10's signed and 1 Chicago Bears mini helmet, for free, at an appearance in Arlington Heights, IL.
