On Saturday, 01-Nov-08, I got 4 autographs from 8-time Olympic Gold Medalist Michael Phelps at a sports store grand opening, for free. He would only sign the 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 cards that he brought with me, which was announced 5 minutes before the signing, which was an ad for his sports drink with him in the water, but it was still a nice success. Many people brought swim caps, Sports Illustrated, etc, but he wouldn't sign anything else, and was strict with 1 signature per person, so I had the family with me. Waited 3 1/2 hours for it, some people camped out overnight.
