Can Michael Vick make a comeback?

Michael Vick will likely miss 2 NFL season. Can he come back from this?

I personally think physically Michael Vick can make a comeback. There are plenty of NFL players that have had ACL or worst injuries and come back 12-24 months later. In their case they have an injury that keeps them off their feet and makes them go through rehab. In Vick's case he will have nothing to do but work out. He can run, lift weights and keep in top shape.

The biggest obstacle will be if the Falcons or any other team will accept him back.

    Thoughts?

not a chance...he's not gonna be locked up in some country club with state of the art workout equipment. odds are pretty high he's gonna be isolated from general population, locked down 20+hrs a day. what's he gonna lift, where's he gonna run, who's he gonna throw to. Not to mention the mental aspects, breaking down game film, reviewing playbooks. This isn't boxing where a 2 yr lockup can honestly be a good way to rejuvenate the body and still get stronger. If he makes a comeback, they could possibly be hundreds of new players in the NFL, he won't know anything about them apart from a few minutes of tv time a day, but they will have had a long time to study his gamefilm. Two seasons away from the field when he should be hitting his stride physically is gonna be the downfall of his career, cause unless your name is Brett Favre, once a QB hits 30, the physical skills start to decline. Vick will be really close to that 30 mark if i'm not mistaken when he's able to take the field again, IF the commissioner lifts th suspension and IF a team signs him. I honestly think he's done.

I would say someone will at least give him a chance when he gets out. Now as far as how good he will be I am not sure on that.

No doubt about it Mike , There is gonna be at least 4-5 NFL Teams that will give him a Chance once he get's out. Vick is a Great QB, Sure he has made some mistakes in his Career - but who hasn't . I am sure if you look at 50% of the NFL/MLB/NHL/NBA there are players that have done worse or just as bad as what Vick did but just havn't been caught yet

Remember, the 23 months he is in for is from federal charges. He still has to look out for state charges as well on top of that. So he may well be in a while longer than 23 months.

if he played any other position, id say maybe.....no chance after being away from football for ATLEAST 3 years (may face state charges as well as a league suspension) a qb like vick will be a full time starter again. he's far from a prototypical qb, so his skill set is not something that will be attractive to ALL teams.....and take away the teams that will avoid him due to these off field activities, you've got a hand full of teams that will give him a look.....sure, he will be able to do some running and lifting in prison, but those are 2 of the LEAST important things a QB has to do to stay at a competitive level.....in todays game, schemes change weekly!! he will come back with reads he's never seen, plays he's never run, and players/coaches that are unknown to him.....also, since he's not a prototypical qb, that lessens his chances a team would consider him as a backup

he wasn't that good of a qb when he had 6 years to work at it.....3-4 years away from the game aren't gonna help!! i think he is done (as a qb) in the nfl.....i wouldn't be surprised if someone tried to quickly mold him into a rb (split carries with another decent back - becomming more and more popular in the league)

No way as a QB! He will be forever known as a coach killer! I would bet he gets a chance as a slor receiver plenty of QB's have become great WR's. Hines Ward, Randle El and plenty of others. He couldn't take the beatings of a RB at that age never having played the position. Remember RB's don't get to slide from being hit! Some team will give him a shot no doubt as long as he gets no more state time added. Which I doubt I think it will be probation and time served!

he's been more of a running back than a quarterback though....he wont lose the speed and running ability (thats just flat out talent)....as far as taking hits, i dont think he would get hit that much (well, that hard)....he wouldn't be an every down back, wouldn't get goal line touches....would be running outside the tackles.....even so, he's a tough guy....he got drilled a few times in the past and walked it off.....id have more of a question whether he can catch a ball (hines ward played alot of WR at georgia, and randle el is just a flat out athlete - was drafted out of high school to play baseball)....the only thing vick has ever done is be a running qb
