I think almost everyone and I mean everyone uses the OPG, My Collection, etc. Of course that would be the killer for beckett if other sites had reliable pricing as well.

The one thing I don't understand and probably never will is the fact you can't ask nor post "what's the BV of this card" in general talk ... BUT if your making a trade you can outright ask "what's the BV of this card" ?????? makes absolutely no sense to me at all

Because Beckett started its business as a price guide they feel that asking prices like that will deter traders from buying their price guides.

I myself started on both SCS and Beckett around same time. We all had a general disagreement with them at one time in the racing forum and decided to split from them. That's how another race site started up. I do not and have not visited Beckett in a couple of years. For racing we find the same info, if not more, right here at SCF that we can find on any other site.

understandable, BUT how can you not allow it in one form of a question but in another form it's completely acceptable.
example 1 - I ask "Hey can someone tell me the BV of this 17 color Adrian Peterson game used jock strap autograph #'d/50, I can't find it in the OPG"
Example 1 answer - READ THE TOS, you can't ask for BV.
Example 2 - I ask "Want to trade this 17 color Adrian Peterson game used Jock strap autograph #'d/50" and then in the post ask "can someone tell me BV"
Example 2 answer - BV is $1,000,000.00 with up arrows and I'm interested CMB.

agree with that, I've noticed that a lot of people from other sites go there to read up and maybe talk some smack every now and then, but the trades just don't flow as easy as they do here.
Sweet man! Thanks ... and your package is all ready to go as well!

I used to go there daily for the message boards. After they started implementing rules against everything and eliminated buying/selling it became impossible to make a trade so I quit going.
I only go there now for the OPG and occasionally check in at the football hobbytalk boards, but most of the people that were there when I was a regular have left. I do see a few of the Beckett grayhairs on here occasionally but not often.
It is actually quite upsetting to see Beckett go the route they are headed. I was one of the early message board members. I joined back in 1998. My account there shows I joined in like 2005 because they somehow deleted my old username and I had to go with duane1969. I give Beckett credit for starting the whole on-line trading thing. I am sure it would have happened eventually anyway but I think they were the first to have a trade board.
