I think part of that is because anybody can join Beckett and gain status simply by posting a lot. I think you gain Senior Member status by simply making 500 posts to the boards. There is no way to measure a persons hobby value unless they scam someone and get banned from the boards.
On here you gain status by being a good trader. You can post 10,000 times and your trader rating will still read 0. The only way to gain a good rep here is by being a good trader and a good person to deal with. If you are a jerk then your threads are ignored and you won't make trades.
I would take SCF over Beckett any day and in fact, I already do, every day.

I started trading online with Beckett, but that was before they got rid of the old buy/sell area they had. I made lots of friends on there and made numerous trades. I got turned off to beckett when they went to the message board. I just wasn't comfortable with it and never really used it except to ask a few questions about some oddball cards I had that I didn't know anything about. I forgot how, but someone got me to go on SCS. Once that site went down, I joined STC...which is now part of SCF after the merge. It didn't take me long on SCF to get used to the message board and trading and now this is the only site I use. I check out NUTS and a few other sites that I know some people who are members of and go there once in a while, but I get busy and 1 site is enough for me to keep track of...besides everything I need to buy/sell/trade and get info is right here pretty much. You can't find another site that has as many good traders and upstanding members.
