i think a shop-owner will run his business with other things than trading.....its selling boxes, supplies and things like that.
maybe i am wrong, but thats what i heard of our shop-owner.(a good friend of mine)

Sounds right, but when a shop is made up of 90% glass cases w/singles, I can understand what their in the biz for...

gotta agree with Sascha here. My card shop doesnt do a lot of trading, but when he does, its at 100%. He makes most of his money on boxes, supplies, and autographs (he does a lot of store signings and such) so when he trades, it is really to help out his customers- of course, he doesnt trade down, but that makes sense. He views it as a way to get new singles in to sell without having to open products- and anything that hes trading are singles that have sat in his showcase and havent been purchased, so hes ok with that.

My shop would only trade for local teams and then only at 75 percent so I just walked out. I'll still shop there but I can't afford to be losing out on all trades unless it's for a card I really need.
