    Something I wanna try

Ok, since I really ain't collecting cards to heavily right now, considering I don't have the money right now, and I wanna stay active on here, I thought I'd see if I could get this going pretty good. Something to try to get as many different people involved as I can.

Was doing some thinking earlier, and was thinking, who is the greatest music artist of all-time. Not necissarily in one certain genre, but of all-time.

So here's what I want to do. Give me a list of who, in your opinion, you would RANK the top 5-10 music artists of all time. Not to seem like I don't care about who you like or anything, but I don't mean who your favorites are, but who you think are the greatest bands/artists ever. Whether you go by most influential, most popular, etc. Doesn't matter, but who you think is the best overall.

So what I want is for you to give me a list of somewhere bewteen 5-10 bands ranked from best to worst, and what I will do is let this run for about a week, then I'll make a bracket of let's say 16 bands, which I'll fill out according to the amount of votes they get. For example, the #1 seed would be the band who receives the most votes as the greatest, and so on.

I'll probably let this run till next monday or maybe a day or two after, depending on my work schedule next week, and how much free time I have, then I'll make the bracket out and we'll go from there. I'll probably make a poll every couple days for everyone to vote on and see who moves on. Then at the end, we'll see who in SCF's opinions, is the greatest musical artist of all-time.

And, if for some reason you don't want anyone knowing who you think is the best, you can send me a PM no problem.

    1st. Nirvana
    2nd. Pearl Jam
    3rd. The Beatles
    4th. Pink Floyd
    5th. Led Zeppelin
    6th. AC/DC
    7th. Soundgarden
    8th. Alice in Chains
    9th. The Rolling Stones
    10th. Bob Dylan

The only genre I know well is rock/grunge so I can't say any bands/artists from other genre's because I'd only be pretending I knew what I was talking about. My list is based on whom I know influenced the bands playing today that I enjoy (I don't love all the bands I listed so its not what I like, just who I think influenced it).

    Great idea!

    Thanks,
    Jimmy

    Hmmmmm....

It seems that everyone so far is staying within the parameters of rock so I will follow suit.

Even though I don't care for many of these bands:
    1. Beatles
    2. Led Zeppelin
    3. The Stones
    4. Pink Floyd
    5. Nirvana (brought grunge rock into the mainstream)
    6. Grateful Dead
    7. Limp Bizkit (brought rap-rock into the mainstream)
    8. Pantera - Soooooo many copies out there
    9. Ozzy
    10. Hendrix

those really aren't in any order. Hard enough to name only 10.
