I believe Paypal will only protect you up to $200 if the seller has 98%+ feedback, $2000 w/ the better sellers (I'm guessing he has 0)...so be careful. I think if you used a credit card though the cc would have some fraud protection.

You don't want to get involved in Paypal disputes as they take quite awhile to resolve----at least the one I had w/ a seller.

Probably best just to let it go.

I would not buy off of EBAY as you are atleast covered there. The thing is if you send him paypal and he removes all the money and has a zero balance you wont get your 300 back, trust me it happened to me, thank God it was only like 12 paypal. I would stay far away form this guy until he gets established to many scammers out there it would be a big gamble but if he does send thats a great deal but also remember most of the time great deals are to good to be true

yeah stay away the negatives outweigh the positives by a lot

the fact that he has no feedback does not help and even if you use paypal, just like hepcat said, you are only protected up to 200 of the 300 so either way he would get something. I think paying with a credit card here is the way to go. That way you avoid paypal and their coverage and are covered under your credit card for any amount.

Be careful, sounds like he wants a quick transaction and while we all would want that, in this situation it does not seem like a good thing.

plus the guy types in all caps...that is just plain annoying.

FYI, I used his email and went to paypal. I started a transaction and it says that he is a verified premier member but he has no transactions on there either.

His paypal account was opened yesterday!

100% Scam

1) He wants to do the deal off of eBay. After he doesn't send you anything eBay will not help since it was an off-eBay deal.

2) Even if you win a PayPal dispute you get nothing if the money is not in his PayPal account. All he has to do is withdraw the money as soon as it arrives and then forget about you.

PayPal will notify you that you won the dispute but that they cannot refund your money because his account is empty. I had the same thing happen to me on a car stereo and I never got any money back.

3) Why only sell the card @ $300 for 2 hours? That card would sell great at auction. His only reason for the quick sale is to make a quick buck and disappear.

4) No other scans = no card. If he really wanted to sell it then he would be able to provide quick scans of the front and back.

If you send this guy $300 you are screwed. He will be $300 richer and you will be out all the way around. The reason it is a "to good to be true" deal is because it really is too good to be true. Walk away and forget it.

Trust me, if you check back in a few weeks you will see his account is closed and he will have negs for not shipping items.
