My cat will die Monday.
The family cat of 11 years, Barkley (she's a girl in spite of the name), will die Monday. She has severe diarrhea and vomiting that the vets cannot fix. We have been recommended to put her down Monday.
This is very upsetting and unexpected for me. She was primarily dad's cat but she loved the whole family and she was always around the house this last decade with us.

thanks for the thoughts.
This is the first family cat we've had to put down. My first family cat died in our 1993 house fire. The other family cats lived with us until we gave them away when we moved to Missouri in 2001 because the landlord we had at the time only allowed one pet on the premises. The one cat we were able to bring with us to Missouri was Barkley.
We will miss her.

Sorry to hear that jamming, I'm sure you'll make Barkley's last few days special, and I feel for you. Pets are like family.

Sorry to hear that! Animals can truly become part of any family and a loss can be just as hurtful.

She is a very pretty cat, again I am sorry to hear about that. My family had to put our Bassett Hound to sleep the day before easter, so I know it can be really hard.
