Every two years during election time Americans act like they are concerned, but they really aren't.
Amen...and they think if they talk the loudest it will make up for that fact.
As a Disabled Veteran and fellow soldier I would say we need to handle business, all though I do know as soon as we make a move everyone will blame us, as is usually the case.
100% accurate...everyone wanted to help the Iraqi people and wanted Hussein out of power, but as soon as we go over to do just that, we're oil hungry warmongers. And everyone is so upset and thinks we should do something about the genocide in the Darfur region in Sudan, but if we did go to do something and it took more than a week, we would be the bad guys again trying to start wars all over the world. People have all these high and mighty ideals, but they're not willing to put in the time, effort, money, and, most importantly/tragically, lives to get it done. Almost anything worth doing is not going to be easy...if it was easy, it wouldn't have been such a bad situation to begin with.
As far as Iran, that is the most volatile situation in the world and needs to be handled very carefully, but also forcefully. I don't think they should have been allowed as much leeway and forgiveness as they have been so far...it's just a matter of time, in my opinion, and I'd rather not wait for the UN to get results (is that considered an oxymoron?) or an actual nuclear attack.

Here is the problem I have with that article:
-"Three speed boats of unidentified origin"
-"approached a US patrol boat" 100 yards? 200 yards?
The article goes into some details yet doesn't state the distance! It obviously wasn't close enough to identify the boats. Also, we do not know where the USS Typhon precisely was.
This all sounds like a whole lot of nothing turning into something. Last thing we need is another war, but we keep pushing and pushing...politically and militarily.
Do they not have any rights to the waters of the Persian Gulf?
