I was involved in the same type of ordeal. Seeing that delivery confirmation is just a way to track the delivery date of a package you will likely lose the case if it goes through paypal as insurance is made to help replace a certain amount of the value in case this sort of thing comes up. I wish you the best, but be ready for that sudden blow to your paypal account (if it comes back). Mahalo and Aloha, Brad

but it makes no sense...how am i responsible?? if it was so easy to just get your money back, why wouldnt this happen all the time??
ive purchased many and sold many items without insurance

You're responsible for the sole purpose of not offering the insurance in your eBay listing. Meaning you are leaving yourself responsible if the card doesn't show up in the manner you stated it would. Now if you offered the insurance and he opted to not pay it then it would then be completely his fault for not getting it. No matter how I look at it you would be at fault, as much as I wish it wasn't. Sorry and best of luck
