is it just me?
really, is it just me or do others agree that anybody that invests in a jarmarcus russell big card IS also looking for some swampland to invest in too?
i think russell will be a flop like tim couch, shaun king, cade mcnown, and akili smith, who "by the way" were all from the 99 draft. these guys were said to be the next great qbs according to the draft experts.
HOW DID THEY MAKE OUT?

Peyton Manning, Carson Palmer, Troy Aikman, and Eli Manning were all picked #1 and were said to be the next great QBs...how did they make out?
I don't think Russell will be great, but I think he'll end up being a good QB. He has just as much chance of being good as Brady Quinn, Calvin Johnson, Marshawn Lynch, Trent Edwards, Dwayne Bowe, etc, which all of their cards sell high too. Either way, it's far, FAR too early to call him a flop...especially as bad as Akili Smith and the likes. Only time will tell.

I don't see him as a flop, but its not on him but Al Davis in my opinion. Russell reminds me alot of a McNabb type QB. But no QB can do everything without the tools (wr's/rb/
o-line)
Lets see how he does this year starting 16 games before we start calling him a flop

Personally, I don't think much of Russell either and don't think he will have a good career. It is, however, definately too early to call him a flop. Give him a few years to earn that status.

obviously i don't think its to early to call him a flop, because i just did.
i made my determination by his actions showing how much he wanted and was anxious to play. he didn't demonatrate he wanted to get the contract signed and play. i expect he knows he is no good.
lets compare him to brady quinn, one of the two can write their name. does that mean anything? and i also know quinn wasn't given grades in collage in order to play. ND has a strict policy on having to maintain grades in order to play. a lot of the other collages don't care about anything except winning games, so they give grades or the players take classes like quilting, home ec, you get the picture.

That could also mean he wanted more money...shocker, a professional athlete wanting more money.

No, it doesn't.
and i also know quinn wasn't given grades in collage in order to play.
Do you have any proof that JaMarcus was?
If you can judge a flop based on him wanting more money and not being able to write legibly, I think a) you should be working for an NFL team and b) you would consider most NFL players and professional athletes in general a flop....all of them want more money and most of them can't write legibly.
Do you have any points that actually pertain to playing football?

my 5 year old can write better than he can. i said write, not print, and she is only 5.
Do you have any proof that JaMarcus was? DO YOU HAVE ANY PROOF HE WASN'T GIVEN GRADES, we know he can't even sign his name.

there is nothing wrong with wanting more money if you're worth it, i don't think he is, and unfortunately, when he proves me right, this will be forgotten.
as far as being able to write ledgibly, check these 3 pages, they are my 97 legends autos, and my running back and quarterback pages of autos and point out to me which of the all time great stars and HOFERS can't write ledgibly

one guy i don't collect is the clown that signed his cards >>"white shoes"<<, russell should sign his >>>>"greedy no show" <<<<that i could understand.
1. more thing, i want to address.

THEY MADE OUT GOOD, BECAUSE THEY CAME TO PLAY. isn't hindsight terrific?

Your debating prowess astounds me. Nothing you have mentioned has anything to do with playing football. Your arguments that JaMarcus Russell isn't going to be a good QB is that he can't write his name (which I still don't even know what you mean by that), you suspect he was given grades in college, and he wanted more money.
my 5 year old can write better than he can. i said write, not print, and she is only 5.
Does that mean your 5 year old would be a good QB? How is that at all relevant to Russell's QB skills?
DO YOU HAVE ANY PROOF HE WASN'T GIVEN GRADES
No I don't...but you don't have any proof that he was either. So again, how is that relevant to Russell's QB skills?
we know he can't even sign his name.
Where did you even get this? I'm pretty sure I've seen an autographed card of his, maybe even thousands of them. And I've seen a lot of players whose signature looks a lot worse than his.
I'm not sure why I'm even debating his ability to sign his name because, once again, how is that at all relevant to Russell's QB skills?

The Declaration of Independence has a lot of beautiful signatures on it, but I bet none of them would be good in the NFL.....One more time: How is that at all relevant to Russell's QB skills?
The ability to sign your name has absolutely nothing to do with how well you play football.

Because they came to play? So anybody that's a bust didn't come to play? That doesn't even make sense.
And by the way, Eli has a pretty nice sig, but Peyton, Aikman, and especially Palmer all have signatures just as bad or worse than JaMarcus'. Oh but I forgot, the difference is they came to play....
So I'll ask again: Do you have any points that actually pertain to playing football?
I enjoy a good debate, but you're making this too easy.

Aikman actually has a nice looking sig IMO ... LOL, but yeah, crazy topic bound to draw lots of replies on this one!
