Where shoud i go ???
Won't bored you very long , here is a short story : I decided to travel this summer ( probably 1 week ) and i'm still undecided where i should go. I never travelled outside of Canada so i thought a few members here could share their experiences with me so i can think about more options. One thing is sure , i want to be somewhere with hot temperatures , like California.
Waiting for opinions / experiences to help me choose ! Thanks in advance , Karl

I've been a lot of places (Boston, NYC, San Francisco, Orlando, Miami), but Chicago is my all-time favorite.

Depends on what kind of destination you're looking for, but these would be my 2 recommendations for hot weather on your first time trip:
1) Cali coast from San Luis Obispo north. I loved the Monterrey Bay area, Santa Cruz is beautiful, and the drive from Monterrey to San Luis Obispo on Hwy 1 is absolutely gorgeous! Big Sur is a great tiny resort, the Hurst castle is in the area, beautiful beaches and ocean cliffs, and San Fran and LA are both in range if you want to check out the bigger cities...I didn't spend much time in San Fran, but I would check it out again. I promised to avoid LA like the plague from now on though.
2) Vegas Baby! A little more of the wild glitz and glam instead of the natural beauty and all that...of course, only if you're into that kind of thing. There are a ton of things to do in Vegas, but the only real reason to go is if you want to gamble and drink and party and all that jazz. If you are into that, then there's no other place to go. For your first time, if you can afford it, I recommend staying on the Strip. I stayed at the MGM Grand my first time out and it was great...hotel/casino/night club/shows/events/shopping/pools/restaurants/lion habitat/etc all in the same place. 2nd time I stayed off the Strip on Boulder Hwy...much cheaper and more laid back, but you need a rental car or extra money for a cab.
Of course, there are tons of great places to visit (Grand Canyon is a Honorable Mention by the way...which is within driving distance of Vegas), but in my opinion, those would be 2 of the best America has to offer the first time visitor. Wherever you go, enjoy it for those of us who are dying to travel but will be using up all their vacation time when a new kid comes!

If I were you, I would go to Hawaii (I have never been there but I want to go). Also, I just got back from Las Vegas last Sunday and I had a great time (I am not 21 so apparently I didn't get the "full experience" haha) but there is alot of other things you can do if you don't like gambling. Just a few suggestions. Hope you have a great time where ever you decide to go!!!

Sure thing....
The downtown area is awesome.
There's a rediculous amount of shopping (Michigan Ave.).
The pier is incredible.
Tons of nice scenery.
Going to the top of the Sears Tower
Eating Chicago's world famous Giordanos Pizza.
They have an amazing aquarium.
Plus I'm sure there's a ton of other things I haven't mentioned as well.
I just really like Chicago.

Yeah in some states in the US you can gamble when you are 18 but in Nevada, the minimum age is 21.

Monterey is gorgeous. I take my g/f twice a year and we stay at the Portola. Last year they had a car auction in the hotel, and they were very nice classic cars. The Concours d'Elegance was starting that weekend actually.
Las Vegas is just fun. I don't even gamble there. But thats just some place you take the boys.
