We all make choices and mine is to drive a 2000 Expedition. Does it sux to pay for gas now, yes. Will it help if I buy a new car that gets better gas mileage, No. Reason being is that the new car payment and still buying gas will knock your wallet harder.

Buy an electric car...no gas! Electricity is waaaaay cheaper than gas! But, those are pricey too.

It is $3.96 a gallon here on Hickam Air Force Base.
I agree that gas prices are high, but I don't see Americans complaining about paying $40 a gallon for Starbucks coffees or $10+ for a gallon of bottled water.
Gas gets you to work so you can earn the money. Gas heats your home. Outside of water is there a more important fluid?
I drove two Honda Civics from 1995 to 2004. Before that my first car was a VW rabbit. Currently, I drive Mazda Miata that costs me about $40-50 a month to drive. I do have a Mustang that fell into my lap for $3,000 and books at $9,500. If it wasn't for the $6,500 discount I would not own it.
Everyone has a choice of what they drive and now most that bought inefficient cars are now paying. Sell the gas guzzlers and by something more reasonable!

You can get a Scooter that is approved for highway use that gets 75-100 mpg for under 5,000. I have a 03 Harley-Davidson sportster that gets 70mpg that costs me 4,500 at the time.
