I wasn't questioning that. You said we gave up looking. It's very hard to know even a quarter of what American troops are doing from over here.

There was no ties between Iraq and Bin Laden or al Quada READ the 9/11 report.
The condition in Iraq has improved a great deal but it's not all because of the surge like Mccain is claiming. Don't forget the Iraq people turned on the terrorists (which we didn't expect). We started paying the militia NOT to kill us or start trouble. The troops are doing a good job but it was a perfect storm to slow the violance.
As for worry of Iran influence maybe we shouldn't have put a guy in power who was trained and has strong ties to Iran?
The point is on Jan 9 unless we agree with Iraq on why we are there it will be illegal for us to be there and Iraq does not want us there unless there is a timeline for us to get out (and it's by 2010)..
Mccain was right and obama wrong about the surge just like obama was right and mccain wrong about going in to begin with. It caused Afgan to get worse and still no Bin Laden. I wouldn't have as much of a problem with it IF they would just tell me what they consider success
1st it was WMD which they didn't have
2nd Get rid of Hussein (we did)
3rd establish a democracy (we have)
Every time "success" is reached they change the bar, is it to much to ask to define "WIN". IF your going to say you will win tell us what win is..
