Really? You're crazy. He puts out some of the best lyrics IN THE GAME. He's one of the best, I don't know what Wayne you've been listening to.

The same Lil wayne you've been listening too ...

A MILLI A MILLI A MILLI blah blah blah

sorry but it doesn't compare to some of the TRUE lyricist's out, even with the decline of the Genre in a whole. You still have some artists that are putting out insane lyrics compared Lil Wayne. We could probably argue back and forth all day but if you like Wayne and you think he's good then thats fine and dandy but I happen not to like him and think there are others out there that are 100x's better than he is!

So basically your saying you don't like Lil Wayne, and that he has "no lyrical skills" based off of one bad song, A Milli?

    Yea, that makes sense.

If you actually listen to other stuff--which clearly you don't from that statement--you'd know that he puts out good stuff, with damn good lyrics.

EDIT: Let me make myself more clear, so there's no argument....that's fine if you don't like him, I don't have a problem with that, I just don't get how you can say he has no lyrical skills, when (from what it sounds like) your basing it off of one song.

trust me I've heard more than one song of his, going back to his CMM day's. I don't see where people are claiming that he's puttin out the best lyrics "in the game"? Sure his lyrics are witty and sometimes nasty but have absolutely no substance. I like HIP HOP ... not rap, I don't consider ANY of today's RAP, HIP HOP. You have a few groups that are staying true to HIP HOP i.e. The Roots and can actually deliver a story behind there music and not just a bunch of senseless junk ryhmed out over bass lines.

not feelin it ... but then again that could be because I don't understand they hype with Lil Wayne. I attribute his success to all the teenie boppers in the world these day's who don't listen for substance in a song any more, they only care about who's got the flashiest car, the biggest chain or the scantily clad women in their videos. Whatever happened to real Hip-Hop? Lil Wayne has no lyrical skills at all, he should take a lesson from some of the best like the GZA & RZA from The WU, Black Thought, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Common etc.

I mean just look at this one verse ...

    The Genius from "Shadowboxin"

I slayed MC's back in the rec room era
My style broke mother&$^#*^ backs like Ken Patera
Most rap *&$$#% came loud, but unheard
Once I pulled out, round em off to the nearest third
Check these non visual *%$$&#, with tapes and a portrait
Flood the seminar, tryin to orbit this corporate
indsutry, but what them *^%%!$ can't see
must break through like the Wu, unexpectedly
Protect Ya Neck, my sword still remain imperial
Before I blast the mic, RZA scratch off the serial
We reign all year round from June to June
While &%$$!# bite immediately if not soon
Set the lynchin, and form the execution date
As this two thousand beyond slang suffocate
Amplify sample through vacumn tubes compressions
cause RZA, to charge ^%$$@* twenty G's a session

i dont touch rap music these days, but just wanted to chime in - Liquid Swords is my favorite rap album ever......nothing today can even compete with the stuff the Wu put out!! the ken petera line is an all time classic!!

theproudestmonkey - I agree Liquid Swords was a great album!! Don't let today's cRAP music stray you from listening becasuse there is still some good stuff out there for sure. Unfortunately these guys usually don't get the airplay they deserve because they don't flash how much money they have, or the cars they drive, or how hood they are.

Check out Somobe, kat outta Las Vegas that is pretty much underground but has some ill beats and lyrics ..... and actually speaks a story.

Here is a link to a few of his songs to listen for free. If you like it Definitely order the album and support these guys. The only way we'll ever get Hip Hop back

a few of his songs -
