The Fencing (Sabre) was swept by the US I believe....that's what I heard at least....
I thought the basketball game was being televised live across the US....that's what I heard last night anyway....sorry if I spoiled it for you.
Gymnastics are one of my favorite sports to watch....how they let go, do flips in the air and grab the bar again is insane to me...the rings are another thing....they have to hold the position for 2 seconds.....and they are holding themselves upside-down! Just incredible!

How about that 4x100 freestyle swimming relay!? WOW! My family and I yelled so loudly when U.S. flashed #1 that we thought we scared our neighbors, lol. I didn't think Lezak would overtake the French guy. After all that trash talking from the heavily favored French, we prevailed, and Phelps gets another gold for it.

That relay was insane. "The Americans? We are going to smash them...."
The Americans won the race from behind and crushed the WR.

I watched the opening ceremonies the other night. They were great the announcers just plain out sucked and both should be fired. Matt Lauer wouldn't shut up, and the
Bob Costas kept on saying ignorant stuff like negative things about a few countries and what they had going on at the moment as far as tensions , as well as a few things no so P.C. about China itself. Just remember where your at schmuck. If he got whacked while he was over there for all his off color commentary I would not be surprised. These two are just a part of the bigger overall problem with reporting and Journalism not being able to do their Job. Too much ego, and too much personal opinion. Getting back to the Olympics though. The opening ceremonies really were GREAT TO WATCH. Even the parade of stars part of it has some very nice shots / bigtime interaction between different stars and different countries. I thought Yao Ming next to the little kid was a cute heart warming touch.

That was AWESOME!!!! I was sitting in the chair yelling "GO GO GO GO!!! C'MON!!!!"....10:30 at night, windows and doors still open, living in an apartment building....but I don't care....if they didn't know why I was yelling, then they missed out on one of the greatest events EVER! That was just darn amazing! last 100 meters by Lezak was in 46 seconds....he flew!
Michael Phelps can still get 8 golds....these 1st 2 races were the toughest, he says. The last 6, the US is favored in all of the team competitions, and Phelps is favored in all the individual competitions.....should be great to watch! See how many more world records Phelps can break!
Katie Hoff (200m breaststroke??) had a body length over the British swimmer in the last 50, but lost steam and only got Silver....still good, but not Gold!
Can't remember what else was last night....all I've been thinking of is the swimming! I'll post more as I remember

400 freestyle. That race was funny for a few reasons.. the commentators kept raving about the Italian girl Pellegrin beforehand and how she was "certainly" going to get the gold since she was riding a world record from March (she finished 5th last night). And then they went on about how the Italian girl had this animosity against the French girl Manaudou because the French girl used to date her boyfriend or something..the French girl got the gold in 2004, and she started out in the lead on the first three laps last night, but she finished dead last and six seconds behind the next girl! WTH? How can you fall behind that severely?
