I read a lot of it comes from circulation of air. If you put it in a space where not a whole lot of air passes through, that can happen.

I have had the R.O.D. twice. Once with no insurance so I had to buy a new one straight up. When I bought the new one I learned and bought the insurance so when that one died I got the next one free.

Yeah, that can be your problem, since the signal travels so much just to get to it. How old is the cord? That could also be the problem. And do you have cable or DSL internet?

Well see here is the problem with that...
my friend has had it happen 3 times like I said. He's kept it in a cool place where lots of air comes through it. He even bought the cooling system thing.
Mine has been tucked away in a dark hot spot where no air gets to it for a year and I've had no problems ( again...damn it...knock on wood )
I think it just comes down to if your system has something wrong with it and it is just going to happen no matter what.

This is true XBOX actually fixed that problem on the newest version but not on the 360.

Yeah, I see what you mean. But I read that the first series of 360s were the ones that came defective. And since then, they just give you refurbished ones. I guess you and I have been lucky not to have that problem. *KNOCK ON WOOD*
