Rest assured, I have bought my last wax from a retail location. From now on I am all about singles. Even if I bought a hobby box, what are the odds that I will pull something worth the purchase price? Slim to none. All you have to do is look thru the box breaks section and you will see that more often than not, box breaks are a disappointment.

I just had a brain malfunction this morning and forgot how upset I was about busting all of that Topps Chrome last year and getting diddly. I won't forget again.

as others have mentioned if a hobby store is too far away buy from an online wholesaler, blaster boxes are a waste of money, you hear of success here and there, but most is a waste of $ with no guarantees of anything, for that matter if your just looking for hits spend the money on singles on ebay

Blaster boxes are a losing choice from the get go. I have opened plenty of them and I'm as guilty as everyone else thinking id pull something. There are certain products like Bowman Football, Topps Football and Prestige that you can do ok at, but there just arent many hits to be had. I opened up a case of prestige blasters for 2007 and only got about 7 or 8 hits i think out of the 20 and thats for the first product out for donruss and a mid level product.

Boxes like classics and threads, bowman chrome, hero's, are the types of products that they just dont put much into.

My advice, stay away unless you just have to bust packs, as your ROI is probably the worst for any product you can buy for cards.

There are a lot of reputable sellers online I am fourtanute that I have a card shop close enough to me where I can still buy whatever I want. Just don't try to but off ebay there are way to many scam artists on there. You should be able to find some online real easy that are pretty reputable.
I actually bought a hobby box of classics and wasn't happy with the product either I pulled 2 nobody rookies 2 nobody rookie autos and 1 okay rookie but he is a linebacker jersey. But my friend pulled a triple jersey out of 2 packs so even hobby boxes can be hit or miss.

thats how i have been feeling about all boxes/packs. Last year when i re-entered the hobby after 9 years i decided to buy boxes and packs and my first box back i pulled a 750 dollar reggie bush and it got me hooked, 4000 dollars later that was still my best pull so i've adopted the new strategy of buying single cards that i really like or enjoy. I think to myself "I could buy a box for 140, or i could buy the card i really want" and have chosen the latter. Hope you make the decision that makes you happy.

Collect base sets, you're never disappointed when you bust packs!

The last time I bought a box on-line the shrinkwrap had been removed and I am pretty sure the box had been searched as I didn't get anything out of it. Won't be doing that again either.

Yeah I bust blasters from time to time, but I never invest alot in them because its tough to score anything good. DLP blasters were good years ago, but not in the past few years. I busted 1 Classics blaster while I was on vacation....I did get a #ed no-name RC and a Joe Montana parallel out of it....but even that doesnt justify the $20 + tax. Topps blasters are the best chance of a good hit these days and even then its tough. Last year I was absolutely determined to keep busting Topps Chrome until I got a Peterson RC. Well I got one after opening about 30 or so blaster boxes....was it worth it?.....

Topps/Bowman are the only blaster boxes that ever have anything decent in them. I've had pretty good luck with regular Bowman the past few years. I pulled an AJ Hawk auto and a dual Santonio Holmes/Vernon Davis gu #'d /50.

I went to a show yesterday and I am MUCH happier. I spent $74 on singles and came home with these.

Larry Johnson 07 Absolute Marks of Fame 17/50 2 color patch/3 color change (yellow/white/yellow)
Lee Evans 07 Trilogy Sunday Best 24/33 2 color patch
Brandon Marshall 07 Playoff Playoffs Red? 12/20 2 color patch
    Santonio Holmes/Sinorice Moss/Chad Jackson/Vernon Davis 06 Ultimate Quad Jersey 22/25
Anthony Gonzalez 07 Topps TX Auto RC
Andre Johnson 06 Leaf Limited Monikers Auto 12/50
Darren McFadden 08 Stadium Club Beam Team jersey
    Rashard Mendenhall 08 UD RC
Limas Sweed 08 Stadium Club RC

A much better investment IMO. Screw busting wax from now on. They have the show the 3rd Friday of every month. I am just going to save the money I would have spent on wax all month and go buy singles instead.
