I believe this speaks more to the disparity between black and white. His election took place in 1990. To me that is far too long. Can you really blame people for not registering into a system that has oppressed and held down their advancement for so long?

We can agree to disagree on whether people are still oppressed. However, my point was, as long as people say things like "first black (anything)" then racism isn't going anywhere.

thats very true on the college aspect because the universitys want to have a "mix" of ethnic groups even though someone with 10X better test scores gets booted for a minority who barely passes his classes

on this part here im not being racist at all but it seems true to me that minorites are racist against white people quite a bit. i know that there are white racists but we cant pull the race card like minorities can because we are the majority???

For the record, I am not saying that the last 25 years make up for history. However, the majority of the people who do the complaining, weren't around when things were bad.
Please tell me how minorities are still held down. Because I can give you numerous examples of how I have been "held down" as a white male.

I know it still goes on, however I think in todays society meaing last decade it seems to me that it's more of a money situation. I mean Obama (as black as he may not be) is runing for President how was he held back?
