I have a family friend who worked for MCI WorldCom in 2001, who turned down a job offer from the Pentagon. If he'd accepted the offer, he would have been in the part of the building that the plane hit on 9/11.

my story about the tragic event
i was in 4th grade, but i remember this day very well. it was a normal day like any other, but there was no recess like normal. we were told there was bee's nests in the play structures so like 8-10 year olds, we thought nothing in it, but then we were on lock down, but still untold.
when i got home, my mom was in her room, and had it on ABC and i saw a building with smoke coming from it, and i was just so clueless then. she explained that 2 planes went into the twin towers and one in the pentagon as well as the one in the field in penn.
now 7 years later, and just about 16, i understand it fully, and am quite sad, i've watched tons of documentarys including on HBO, there was a 1 hour show, and it had all real footage of this attack happening. i couldnt watch it because it was awful, you could see people jumping out buildings from 100's and 100's of feet high knowing they knew they would die on impact.
today lets all remember those who were effected and killed from this, RIP

I was on my way to college that morning heard it on the radio moments as it happened. No classes were held that day. Everybody was in shock.

I am getting emotional just reading this....I didn't know anyone personally to dies in the attack, but that doesn't matter. What happened was terribly tragic. God Bless Everyone that knew or knew of someone to die in this tragedy, and God Bless every person to help in the rescue efforts and everything that took place following 9/11.
