    Topps Treasury Preview

    http://www.topps.com/Sellsheet/Produ...&ReleaseNo=240

I think this is the first year for this set, what do you guys think? I think the design looks interesting but also kinda weird at the same time.

    Comes out on 10/1/08.

The design isn't too hot IMO.

The "Money" rip cards are funny. People have "ripped" on them, yet they always complain of not getting monetary value back from a hobby box in general. What is more concrete than getting $10 or more in hard cash back from the rip card? I mean the concept isn't great, but the money back from a box is always an issue for busters, and I think Topps saw that and tried to do something.

That said, I think the mini-card logomans are a unique idea, I'll give them that. But the weighing issue on cards with gold on them is still a problem, at least with a good scale. Come on Topps.

Possibly decent value in the short RC auto checklist - they will be 08-09 rookie autos correct? If so, that would be pretty good.

    An average product though. Meh.

the money rip cards are interesting.... there are 429 money rip cards which will have $10, 20, 50, 100, 500, or $1000 in them. i don't know what i would do if i got it, might the card unripped be worth more than what's inside it sometimes?

and yes it is the 08-09 rookies that will be featured for the autos.

looks like around $5 a pack which would be around $90 a box... this is just based on tony's price in his presale thread

I didn't see Speights listed anywhere. I shall be spending zero dollars on this product.

Not too thrilled with this product. $70-90 for a rip card and auto? Money in my cards? Set design looks alright. Topps if my favorite company so I will give them the benefit of the doubt on this one. :)
