Who Should I Start Collecting??

Hi!
I've never collected football cards...was always into basketball...but basketball is so hard to trade/sell/buy...and football seems to be much easier from what I've heard. I'm looking to start buying or trading for somebody. Who is a midend-lowend guy I should start collecting?? Possibly w/ a bright future...lmk! Thanks!

matt forte would be decent also jonathan stewart or joe flacco

Personally, I think Forte, Stewart, and Flacco are all pretty high end rookies...there aren't many that cost more than they do. Here are some mid-low end guys that have shown a lot of potential, but can still be had at reasonable prices:

Keenan Burton - WR STL (4th Rd) Has shown potential on a team w/weak WRs (after Holt)
Will Franklin - WR KC (4th Rd) Ditto
Tim Hightower - RB Ariz (5th Rd) Already scored 2 TDs this year, but is a backup
Donnie Avery - WR STL (2nd Rd) Same as Burton
Matt Flynn - QB GB (7th Rd) Beat Brohm for #2 in GB, but may be a backup for a long time since Rodgers just took the helm
Jordy Nelson - WR GB (2nd Rd) Already has one TD, but is behind Jennings, Driver, Jones
Tashard Choice - RB DAL (4th Rd) May be more expensive b/c he's in Dallas (same w/GB guys), but he's behind Barber and Felix Jones
Jamaal Charles - RB KC (3rd Rd) Behind LJ and Kolby Smith...but neither are looking great right now.

donnie avery looks pretty promising right now...
he's got some sick looking cards on ebay right now...compared to the other guys...plus he's much more affordable than the three mentioned by bmarshallfan...

any other suggestions?

what about patriots WR Chad Jackson? He's a Patriot and i'm a Pats fan...and his cards seem relatively cheap...Does he have a future?

He hasn't shown any real promise and the fact Brady is down for the year.

Heres what I do, is there a college you like mine is Maryland (born/raised) Kansas St live near college. So I college those players and sometimes they hit. Example Shawne Merriman no one really collected him out of Md till he exploded. So I got alot of his cards before anyone else really collected him.

I would almost recommend picking a Pat then, since you're already a fan, it's a lot easier to get into...but Pats are pretty expensive in most cases. I almost put Kevin O'Connell in my first post...he's 3rd QB(backup now that Brady is out), so not too expensive. If there's another team besides the Pats you like, they might have a more affordable player for ya.

i'm trying to think of teams that have sweet color jersey for patches...cause i like patch/autos...who doesn't? pathers have cool colors, chargers, vikings, seahawks...flashy colors...not a very good thing to base it on, but thats kind of where i'm looking...so...browns...are probably out...and 49ers...teams like that...

I know Hightower is steaing all of Edge's Td's in my FFL.
