I had quite a few peeves with what they both said. Obama moreso I feel.

He was eating out AIG for giving out $400,000 to its higher ups when they were already in trouble. 400k?! Big ™™™™ deal. What about the $700 billion he just signed away to buy more bad and troubled things. He specifically said the people who authorized the 400k and recieved it should be fired. I say he and everyone who signed the bailout should be fired. Talk about double standards on HIS part. Jeeze.

Obama also said "I'm confident about the US economy" and he says this after he and his campaign are eating out Bush for saying the same exact stuff. He also denied that the economy will get worse before it gets better. Yea... sure.

dave are you seriously not angry that a company that gets a 85 billion dollar
bail out of OUR (taxpayers) money went out just after and spent $400,000 on a major party, more or less. I find it sad that you aren't angry about that. I am dumbfounded that there wasn't some sort of checks and balances instituted when they agreed to give them the money. I assume that this was already in the works before the bail out, but I can't imagine a Company being so stupid as to go through with this given the state that they are in.

also... I assume that when you say "eating out" you mean something like bashing.

As for the debate, I caught the last hour. Really at this point I think most people know who they are going to vote for and they are both just tossing out the same things we've heard for the last year or so.

Oh, I have issues with them giving out the money. I have issues with the exec paychecks, and with golden parachutes, etc.

I'm not condoning what they did by any means.

I am simply saying Obama is being two-faced about the whole thing. He signs the bailout which allows companied to continue there rediculous actions, then he yells at them for carrying out business as usual... um ok... that makes sense Mr. Obama.

The whole economy is a joke at this point. I don't see how a single individual can look at our economic standing and think that we aren't headed in short time to a major depression.

This bailout is forced through congress while the american people are blind to its terms. Now the Fed cuts its rates. It just SCREAMS to me of panic in the financial sector. People look at the rate cut and the bailout and think "well FINALLY the government is listening to us and doing something" which is just what they want you to think so that you don't panic and further the crisis. They really are master manipulators.

Everyone is so tied up in the Obama vs Mccain trash heap that is old vs. young, black vs. white, rich vs. poor, GOP vs. Dem, liberal vs. conservative that they don't realize they are being manipulated into these mindsets to avoid seeing that either choice is a complete failure and that neither individual will do a darn thing to fix things.

Its all due to the fundamental flaw of the banking system which neither candidate acknoledges. I would LOVE... LOVE LOVE to see in one of these debates a question asked about why the US follows a fractional reserve banking system and how they feel this is affecting our economy and what can be done to fix it if they think it needs to be fixed. I would literally pay money to see them talk about this.

I'm looking forward to when the depression hits to be honest.

All of you sheeple deserve to have the money in your precious stocks and savings accounts, 401ks and pension plans evaporate for not voting the right people into office and for not writing to your representatives to change things.

Too little, too late, and everyone will pay.

The banks are going to collapse, the economy as a whole will collapse, no one will be able to pull money out of banks or get money from their employers, and what little fiat money you can round up will be devaluated to high hell.

Meanwhile I will be sitting on my pile of precious metals which will skyrocket in price and I and my friends and family members who are on the same train as me will be sitting pretty. =)

    Sit back and wait.

I can't get over how many topics and articles there are on all these forums and websites arguing over pointless topics like who to vote for between Obama and Mccain...

Both candidates handled themselves well. There were a couple of questions that weren't answered by both candidates the way I wanted to hear it...but that's politics. Every presidential debate has been like that. Overall, I do feel Obama edged out McCain. He looked presidential. He also appeals to middle class folks like myself. McCain didn't mention the middle class at all last night.

Once again, I'm accused of being a Democrat. Wow. Just wow. I support the candidate who will lead the United States of America the way it should be. If Ron Paul (a Republican) was running, I would vote for him.

isn't it crazy? I've been called a democrat on here as well, yet we both would vote for a republican if he was on the ticket...go figure

You can lump me in that group as well. I consider myself an independent more than anything, just prefer Obama to McCain.

What makes you think that will happen? If you could offer a substantive answer for once, that would be terrific.

Don't give me the he's a secret Muslim terrorist out to get us.

lol, not saying he is out to get us, but i dont feel like he is gonna give us the protection we need. He is out of touch o nthe most important matter to me and that is the military..

HE removes the troops from iraq too soon which is what he wants to do, it is going to be a mess over there, and all the people we have lost there will be for no reason as we will be back there sooner than later if we don't finish the job now.

HE will elt other countries push us around, and will want to sit down and talk it over with them, probably even after they attack us
