Harv and Carl Goin At It!

CONCORD, N.C. (AP)—Greg Biffle isn’t angry with teammate Carl Edwards for starting a 12-car crash at Talladega Superspeedway.
Neither is Matt Kenseth.
Kevin Harvick? Not quite over it.
Witnesses said Edwards and Harvick scuffled Thursday in the Nationwide Series garage at Lowe’s Motor Speedway after Edwards walked into Harvick’s garage stall and the two engaged in a heated argument.
Harvick appeared to try to walk away but, witnesses said, Edwards reached for his shoulder to turn him back around. Harvick then shoved Edwards, who stumbled onto the hood of Harvick’s car, and the two had to be separated.
Witnesses claimed a member of Harvick’s crew had Edwards in a headlock as numerous people tried to separate the two.
Harvick was unavailable for comment.
Edwards didn’t deny the two argued, but wouldn’t discuss the incident.
“The deal with me and Harvick is between me and him and there’s nothing else to talk about,” he said. “I’m not talking about that. That’s just what it is. We know where each other stand and that’s it.”
Although photographers from CIA Stock Photography and Lowe’s Motor Speedway caught the moment, both refused to show the photos to The Associated Press and said they had no plans to publish the pictures.
Edwards triggered the late crash Sunday when he tried to push Biffle as the three Roush Fenway Racing cars competed raced for the lead. But his bumper hooked the corner of Biffle’s, sending Biffle into a slide directly into Kenseth.
Several championship contenders were caught in the melee, including Harvick, who had harsh words for Edwards and his strategy after the accident.
“I know that his fans won’t be very proud of him sitting back there riding around like a pansy,” Harvick said in a national TV interview. “If he had been racing all day, maybe he would have known how long the front of his car was.”
The Charlotte Observer obtained a photo of a handwritten note Edwards gave Harvick’s pilot before leaving Talladega.
In it, he used an expletive to “thank” Harvick for criticizing him on TV and sarcastically added, “I was really trying to screw up everyone’s day. Love, Carl.”
Biffle and Kenseth were upset with their teammate immediately following the accident, but said they were over it by the time they got to Lowe’s.
“We can point fingers all day about what happened,” Biffle said. “He understands that he made a mistake and there’s nothing we can do about that now. Certainly he didn’t want to wreck himself, because that’s what he did, he wrecked himself.
“I don’t know what else to state about it, but I’m not mad at him.”
Kenseth, who argued with Edwards last fall at Martinsville, said he was initially upset about the accident but had moved past it.
“Our relationship is fine,” Kenseth said. “I was disappointed. I thought that Carl knew better. He’s been preaching the stuff about being careful and working together and teammates and all this stuff, so I was disappointed it happened, but yet it was an accident and that stuff will happen.”
This is good stuff you guys-very much like old school Nascar style stuff lol-gettin in fights in the garage! lol-plus these are 2 guys who when angered tend to get real fiesty lol. I like both of em haha. Harv has a right to be mad-Carl has a right to be mad too-love the note part from carl hahahaahahahahah.
Anyways what you guys think-and pleez dont tell me carl is a fake-anyone with a brain knows hes a nice guy who when feels he was wronged-has a temper! lol. Thoughts anyone?

Well, All I can say is if a guy is trying to walk away and you grab him by the shoulder you can only expect the fit to hit the shan....And when the guy is a guy like harvick you can expect it to hit fast.LMAO

boys will be boys....but now I gotta hear bout Carl is a fake all over over again lol-its hard to be a fan sometimes-and I love how all these Harvick fans are ready to kill Edwards when Harv is one of the only guys to ever be suspended from a race lol-plus he jumped over a bunch of people to choke greg biffle once lol.

Yeah your right there and lets not forget the Harvick/Montoya incident, or the many others
I have never liked Harvick myself, but when you grab ahold of somebody your askin' for trouble. I don't know why guys even bother to go apoligize for mistakes like that, at least individually, when they interview you o.k., but we all know that Edwards did not intend to spin his teamate at the front of a pack of guys pushin' 200mph

yeah lol-the note thing to me is rather comical-something id prob do hahaha. But yeah Carl should stop trying to apologize-it didnt work well with Jr either at Michigan lol.

CARL IS A FAKE!!!!! (just kidding, thought I'd be a little smart ™™™™™)
ANYWAY, as a slight (LOL) Harvick fan, I think it is possible he has a very small temper! (understatement of the year!!) Just ask the Biff or Juablo or Rudd or Matt among others. I would've loved to have been a fly on the wall for that one. The headlock just slays me. I hope the #33 features a body chalk outline on the hood of the car. That would be classic. I do want to hear Kevin's side of the story. I do think Carl is a generally nice guy and great off the track, met him once @ Pocono. He's a competitor! In the heat of the moment, everyone will get angry, remember Jeff Gordon v. Matt Kenseth, or Jeff v. the VERY mild mannered Tony Stewart. Wasn't it Yarborough v. Allison on the very first full race shown on tv?? It happens to the best of them. It's part of racing. I wouldn't be a fan of Kurt Busch if it weren't for him getting Jimmy Spencer (who grew up 20 minutes from me, and who I loathe more than any driver in NASCAR history, even Jimmie or Juablo.)

If I was Carl I would have never written that note and he should have taken his "medicine" from other drivers in the press and moved on. He knew he was at fault and after incidents like that there will be comments made. It happens to every driver. Obviously he didn't do it on purpose, it was an accident. But it was a dumb move, you can clearly see on the tape that he hit Biffle from way too far to the left to be bump drafting. Again every driver messes up at one time or another but just take it and move on OR GET PAYBACK LATER. Writing that note to Harvick was unbelieveably stupid and I'm glad Harvick didn't pull a "Kenseth Flinch". Harvick let him know that he wasn't going to take that.
I would just say sorry right after the race and move on, whatever is said in the media by other drivers is part of the game. Next week it will be someone else.
In my opinion Edwards had no right to be mad whatsoever and he should have been thankful that there wasn't more attention paid to the incident and that his teammates forgave him so easily. If it hadn't been for the Regan Smith "no win" issue there might have been more press about the Edwards issue.
You don't want to hear about Edwards being a fake, fine, but to be supposedly as laid back as he is he doesn't let stuff go very easily. He had 2 perfect examples on how to act: i.e. Biffle and Kenseth (HIS TEAMMATES). They let it go and on to the next race!
Edwards has to understand that while what he did was an accident he still was the cause of all of this so what gives him the right to confront other drivers mad about his accident? I just don't really understand why he wrote that note, maybe he was going to Harvick to apologize but Edwards just made more of a mess of the whole deal, maybe I am missing something but I just don't get it. It doesn't make sense. You cause the accident and then you get mad at another driver b/c he was caught up in it and vented after the race just like everyone else. Does anyone else not think that is ridculous?
You know his teammates were pissed and probably still are but they let it go, maybe they will get him back and maybe not but they kept it to themselves. I DON'T THINK I COULD LET IT GO BY THE WAY BUT I RESPECT THEM AND ENVY THEM FOR HAVING THE PATIENCE TO LET IT GO!
I am not a Edwards fan nor really a Harvick fan. I was definitely mad at Edwards for causing the wreck that took out my favorit driver, Dale Jr., but it happens. Dale Jr. took out Waltrip and Vickers a few years ago with pretty dumb moves. Every driver will do it but how they handle it says alot about their personality.
I do love the fights in the garage though so if they are going to happen I just wish it was more than "pushing & shoving".
Larry McReynolds was on the radio today and he said kind of the same thing, he said: Edwards knows he messed up and it was an accident. He should have apologized and let it go and by the end of the next race it would be over. When he confronted Harvick it only caused more negative attention for Edwards.
That is an outside opinion as again I am neither a Harvick or Edwards fan. I thought Harvick's deal with Montoya was ridculous as well last year.

I agree, they all need to "get over it" but I think that is a bigger problem for Edwards than Harvick.
